final week

the final scores are in for the year but this post will just be about this last week and month.

poker has gone very slowly mostly because of me. i ended up losing a little bit the last couple sessions i played and i also had 2 dates this past week so i didnt play on those days and since it was the end of the month and year i just wanted to finish ahead and since things were already a little rocky i didn't put much volume in.

for the month i am sitting up 1043$ its pretty measly in terms of what i could have achieved but based on how everything turned out, the volume and hours i put in at the tables and the other factors i guess im just happy im in the black for the month but im not really pleased. i know i really have to put more volume in if i want specific results but for the next couple of months im not sure i will be able to but im still going to shoot for at least 120hrs a month.

although poker was kind of a fail for the month. the life and daygame aspects were pretty decent. the activities for the month included going to knotts berry farm, going to six flags, playing laser tag untill exhaustion, going on 3 different dates with girls and probably more that i cant remember. so there has been plenty of fun. which in the last couple years it was kind of the other way around where it was 80% poker and 20% fun so thats another explanation on the poker results.

daygame is probably the more interesting story of this month. i did quite a bit of approaching this month and i think i got probably 8-10 numbers. a few flaked, i lost interest in a couple and the rest i have either took on a date or am still talking to.

 like i said i went on 3 dates this month 1 was with a mature female that we went and played mini golf. the date was fun and at the end of the date i ended up kissing up and down her neck but afterwards i wasnt really feeling the vibe so i told her i just wanted to be friends and weve stayed in contact since.

the next date was with an attractive blonde girl with blue eyes. i took her to an art museum which to me was pretty interesting but im not too sure she was feeling it so much. she had a pretty mellow personality and didnt really seem too outgoing so to speak, i finished that date with a simple kiss. im still a little undecided with her at the moment and im thinking about taking her out again in about a week.

the next girl was a girl that i met when i first got here. shes a low budget film actress and shes hungarian and has an accent. shes the one i like the most so far. we had plans on going to play laser tag but our schedules were contradicting each others so we arranged to get smoothies for a quick chat. we had a pretty good connection and im pretty sure she felt the same way i ended that date with a simple kiss as well. again im going to try and set up another date with her probably next week.

i have a couple other girls im talking too including a girl whos number i just got today who really seems into me so next week i might have a lot of date scheduling to do.

next month the wsopc and lapc start up at the bicycle casino and the commerce casino. i plan on playing a couple events at the wsopc and a few events at the lapc and i have big expectations for those events so i plan on playing really well in them. i plan on doing a yearly recap probably in the next couple of days so that one should be pretty long

tomorrow me and my friend are going to the electronic dance concert called white wonderland for new years eve so that is going to be really fun but ill post pics and stories about it on next sundays post maybe ill get lucky and pull a girl...fingers crossed. anyways untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

finishing strong

alright this week has got some good stories and results so i feel pretty good about this week.

ill start it off with poker. I finally started to get a little traction at the tables and had a couple decent winning days in the beginning of the week and then the last day i played in the week i won a 3375$ pot with AA in a 3 way pot.

pre flop:
it folds to mp1 who limps, mp2 limps,
im in the hijack and raise to 35$, cutoff calls, bb calls, and mp1 and mp2 calls.

so pre flop mp1 is a reg fish, and mp2 was a wild old asian guy who plays baccarat. cutoff is a reg but probablly doesnt even break even. and bb was a businessman who probably plays 3 or 4 times a week.

so we were all pretty deep and i think the shortest stack was 120bb. i just wanted to iso the 2 middle position players and when the other 2 players came along i felt like things could get ugly.

on the flop when the bb lead out i felt like he would most likely have a 10. he had lead out a few times before and when it went to showdown it was top pair. when the mp1 called i felt like he had a really wide range and most of it was draws as well as mp 2

i just flatted there because the pot was getting pretty big compared to our stacks and i didnt want to raise, get called and the turn fill a draw so i just wanted to flat and see the turn and also had 1 more player left to act.  which he just called as well.

on the turn the bb checked and the mp1 instantly pushed out 400$ and mp2 instantly called. now i was pretty certain mp1 didnt have a set of 10s and most likely not 8s. i also felt like if he did have a set or even 2 pair that he would have raised on the flop. i wasnt really scare of mp2 because of the same reasons but if he did have my hand beat he only had 100$ left anyway.

once mp1 bet the 400 i also added 10x hands to his range. but he also has played draws pretty recklessley in the past as well. i also felt like the cutoff didnt have anything big because he would have raised the flop as well so i raised all in

pretty good that i faded the draws and my reads were right, well some what right. turns out the cutoff said he had bottom 2 pair on the flop but when i raised he said he couldnt call so i guess i was lucky in the end.

 so after all that im actually up for the month now by 2k. i actually might only play 2 more times for the month because i have a lot of plans outside of poker before the month ends so maybe i can win a little more.

daygame was pretty good this week. we went out friday and saturday and i probably did close to 25 approaches the first day i only got one number froma pretty cute persian girl. the next day i got a number from a sexy looking brazillian girl and a sexy white girl that turned out to be a dance intructor and she had a really nice ass and set of tits. the best part about it all is that 2 of the girls are texting back and 1 girl from last week texted me back and im in the middle of setting up a date with 2 of them at the moment. the brazillian hasnt texted me back yet so ill text her again after christmas to try one more time and the sexy dancer is in seattle till the 29th but i fill good that she will go on a date as well. also a cute hungarian girl i met when i first got here and got her email weve been talking and when she gets back we will probably go on a date so things are started to progress pretty nicely. there are a couple girls that i am more interested in than the others so if things go good i wouldnt mind getting into a relationship with one of them for the rest of the time im here. (especially the sexy dancer. mmmm)....

these are a couple pics from the weeknd. my friend got a video of me approaching but it came out sideways so i decided not to put it on. next time ill try to get him to get the faces of the girls and a better video.

the life category has also been pretty entertaining. on firday we went to 6 flags and had a lot of fun. met a couple people that told us about some new years rave festival and we just bought our tickets today. its a huge rave that had 24k people go to it last year. its on new years eve and its called white wonderland. the theme to the party is all white so everyone will wear all white which will be cool and theyve got a pretty good lineup of dj's so it should be a lot of fun and ill make sure to post pics of that as well. besides that like i said im trying to set up a few dates and take it from there. also i were trying to plan a trip to vegas in about 3 weeks so we're looking foreward to that as well.

things have been pretty good this month besides a little varriance but it has turned out well. im looking foreward to finishing the year strong and starting a new year and going even stronger. so until next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

finding the groove

alright so i have good news and not so good news (the bad news is of course poker related).

I'll start with the bad news, i mean poker. well im in a little bit of a downswing/ breakeven stretch but im actually down for the month so far. thats not even the bad part. well its been about 4 weeks since i started playing here and i had my eyes set on the juicy 5/10 games i had heard all about. well since being here i can tell you they arent what they use to be from what everyone says which has made me change my expectations a little bit.

I figured i had a couple options. I could either stick it out in the 5/10 games where they are half reg filled (and those are the good games) and maybe win the 35k i wanted to win this winter but most likely go through some pretty good varriance playing against really decent regs. or i could drop down in stakes where the games are way softer and be a winner for sure just not as much. although i figure i can play in the 5/10 games and be a winner over the long run i really dont want to put that kind of pressure on myself this winter and wait for a better opportunity so ive decided to play the 5/5 games instead. its not all bad i do feel like i can win around 20k in these next 4 months so ill just keep trying to build the bankroll for this winter and then jump into the 5/10 next year in florida where the games are known for being soft.

so yeah thats kinda the bad news of things. like i said im down for the month so far and to be honest i havnt put a whole lot of hours in because of it but im sure i can bring it around before the end of the month. also the wsopc is coming to the bicycle casino in about 2 weeks and i plan on playing atleast 2 events in it so im going to really try and play my A game in the tourneys that i play and hopefully go deep and thats really all for poker this week.

daygame was fun this week. i went out a couple days before playing poker to a mall by my place for a couple hours and found that i was kind of in a rut. it took me a couple days to get out of it but i did and on saturday me and my friend put in a lengthy session i probablly approached 8-10 girls and i got 2 numbers. 1 girl went out of town this week so i havnt texted her yet and the other girl i texted but she hasnt replied so ill text her again tomorrow but shes probably a flake. the 2 numbers i got last week were similar. one girl i was texting for a while but ended up flaking and the other girl is going to be out of town for 2 weeks but she wanted to get back in touch when she came back.

the funny thing about my results so far is that i have about 4 girls that i am trying to keep in contact that are all out of town and im waiting for them to either come back and take out or for them to flake. ive only been on 1 date so far since being here and i wasnt really feeling the girl after the date so i cut off the romantical ties to her. i will be honest though i am getting a little flustered because i thought i wouldve landed something by now but its not a big deal ill keep on pushing im sure my breakthrough is coming soon.

my workout has been going good. besides the first week where i was crazy sore for the whole week things seem to be going smoothly and i have a couple more weeks left in this phase before i really start to try and put on weight so that will be interesting cause ive never tried to put on weight like this before. besides all that we just got back from watching the hobit which was pretty awesome. i love all the lord of the rings movies so it was fun watching another movie. besides that there wasnt really anything else that happend that was too exciting other than the normal routines.

i think this week we are going to go to 6 flags and in a few weeks we might take a trip over to vegas so we'll be looking foreward to that other than that i'll be aiming to bring this month back in to the positive over these next couple weeks so untill next time, stay tuned cosmonauts :)

getting the ball rolling

alright so this week had production in it... somewhat.

we'll start with poker. well at the begining of the week the commerce decided to switch the 5/10 games back over to the normal side and i was pretty happy with it in hopes that the games would return to normal. so far it's still the same. they do get 2-3 tables going but they are pretty reg filled and the regs are pretty solid. i believe i can still be profitable in those games over the long run but i actually think my winrate would be better playing in the 5/5 games. so i decided from here untill the wsopc and lapc i will play 5/5 at the bike cause you can buy in for 1000 there and the time that i played it they had 2 tables and they were both soft with some good money on them. the wsopc comes to the bike in about a few weeks so maybe some 5/10 will sprout up there and if theyre good then ill jump in them but if not ill just wait till the lapc at the commerce goes on and hopefully that will bring some good action to the 5/10 games there. if not then i might just end up grinding the 5/5 games for the rest of the winter.

now i dont mind playing against harder competition or against regs but id rather save that for when i can play higher like 10/20 and above. thats when poker splits into a different game. at that point it no longer becomes you trying to point out the bad players to win money from and it switches to figuring out how the other 8 regs at the table plays so you can out play their plays. so yeah id rather not play that way just yet. next year i have it in my mind that i will move to florida and their action is super soft so i should be able to play 5/10 full time next year for sure so we'll just see how things go by the end of this winter.

 as far as my sessions went they were pretty pathetic. i only played 4 days this week the first day i won 75$ the next day i lost 1500, and the next 2 days i won 475, and 120. so yeah pretty pathetic. the last day i played i was running pretty decent and also ran a pretty sick bluff and i was up about 1100. i knew it was going to be the last day i played for the week and i had a fish to my right that had about 2k in front of him that he was going to lose. well with me staying there a couple more hours i was able to lose about 1k just from how the cards went and i really didnt want to leave being down so i just picked up and finished the night 120$ up.

 life was pretty fun this weeknd actually. on friday we were going to go to six flags but they were closed that day so we went to knotts berry farm instead which was awesome. we went on about 5 rides right when we got there before i started getting dizzy. then we played some games and ate and had some fun and then went on the last ride called the Xcelerator.

it goes from 0-80mph in 2 seconds and finishes the whole coaster ride in about 10 seconds it was pretty fun and exhilerating. after that i was pretty dizzy and we were both pretty drained so we ate and went home. saturday we both just spent the whole day doing day game which turned out decent and today we went up the west coast a little bit and found a surf competition going on and watched that for 30 minutes or so and the went and ran daygame for the rest of the day which turned out horrible.

so that leads to the daygame results. during the week i cant really remember if i did any approaches or not. i did go on my date thursday which turned out good but after thinking about it and everything im really not into that girl and i think ill text her tomorrow and tell her we can just be friends haha. saturday was the best day out of the week. in the beginning i wasnt really feeling it and i was coming down with a cold. i didnt want to just sit around though so i approached about half way through the day and ended up doing about 6-8 approaches i got 3 numbers but 1 doesnt count. 1 of the girls was turkish and i felt like the interaction was ok but wasnt really sure it would produce any results. the next girl was brazillian. she couldt speak english super well but it was ok and she was hot but i felt like that interaction went well. the 3rd number was from a guy that i saw talking to a girl. i totally thought he was doing daygame too so after he went away from her i ran up to him and started to talk to him. it turned out that he was just on a date with her but he use to do a lot of day game and we talked for about 5 minutes and i told him that i would keep in touch if he wanted to come out sometime so i took his number.

i texted both the girls and they both texted back. so far so good. so we'll just see how far it goes. btw i really really want to land this brazillian chick omg.... anyways.

 today was just horrible we went out to do more daygame but my cold got worse and i kinda felt like shit and totally out of the vibe. i did do one approach but it went south and just never recovered after that but besides all that it was decent seeing how i went on a date and got 2 numbers this week.

 so this week was an ok week kind of a bleh week but i have better hopes for this next week and the rest of the month. so until next time cosmonauts stay tuned :)

winter workout and schedule

so i just wanted to make this post about the thoughts and ideas i wanted to do this winter as well as my work out routine ill be doing and any other thoughts i have on my mind.

first i just want to talk about poker. i forgot to mention in my last post that i saw dario minerri at a 5/10 table. im not the type of person to get star struck from anyone who was on t.v. but its cool to see somone who was on tv.

then i started to wonder. he was playing like 300/600 on highstakes poker and he didnt even jump into one of the 10/20nl games... BUSTO  perhaps???? also freddie deeb and barry greenstien are a common face in the high limit section. so yeah just kinda fun seeing people like that.

my last thought on poker that i have and i usually have when im losing. (like this last week) is that i feel like poker is going downhill. i mean every serious grinder knows the games are getting harder. for a professional that means his job is going to start getting harder and his paycheck will be less because theres more players sharing that same paycheck. the thing is that in poker there will always be bad players but now a days there are way more better players and it continues to grow. at what point is poker going to be so difficult because everyone is so solid that it will be considered good to win 5 buyins in a month? from 2007-2012 the games have gotten significantly harder and more solid from online mainly but in live as well. thats only over a 5 year span! just think in 5 more years, is it really going to be possible to make a living from it anymore? like i said im losing at the moment so thats why im thinking like this. hopefully good players can always win a good amount of money but i fear it's a farfetched idea.

now for the main topics that i wanted to talk about. which are the things ill be doing besides poker for the winter. so i have been approaching girls quite a bit since ive been here and things are going pretty decent. i actually have a date on thursday. i am getting better at daygame and starting to see some good results. so that means that im going to have more of a dating life.

it will be fun being able to go on dates with girls and better yet have a sexual life with them so that is one thing that i will be doing besides poker.

since my friend came with me from alaska i actually have an opportunity to have a bit more fun this year compared to the last couple years and we plan on doing a lot of things like go to the amusement parks like 6 flags, knotts berry farm, disneyland, las vegas and other entertainment spots.

so this winter ill actually be able to do the things that you go do with friends which will be more entertaining.

and that leaves my workout routine. for the past 3 years i have been working out in the winter but it hasnt ever been anything serious. i use to do about 4 excersises a day 6-7 days a week and eat semi healthy and that was about it. this year i decided to actually do a program that my friend did last year and got really good results from. its called the abercrombie model workout.http://www.abercrombieworkout.com/ you can make fun of me if you want but its a pretty legit workout and from how my friend looked after he was done im expecting to look pretty damn good as well. over all the work out takes about an hour long a day and it has 3 phases the first phase is 1 month where you build strength, the second phase is 2 months long and its where you build mass and muscle. and the 3rd phase is 2 months long and its a toning and sculpting phase. it goes pretty in depth on everyhting from the workouts to the supplements to use and even a suggested diet routine so its a pretty solid routine and its free.

so those are the main thoughts ive been having the last week. ive been putting a lot of effort in all aspects of my life so its been pretty productive so far. the only problem i see with this year is that since i have so many options this year to do other things besides poker i might not end up putting in a large amount of volume like the last couple years. its ok and its not ok. im fine with actually having a life outside of poker and being able to have fun. its not ok because i love me my monies. thats about all though so untill next time cosmonauts stay tuned :)

november review

november is done and over with but more importantly it was my first month off since being done with the summer season of work.

 we got done with work on the 1st of november. after that i spent 2 days in AK finishing what i needed to take care of and i was off to seattle for a few days. i got to seattle and took a taxi to where my truck was stored. of course the battery was dead from sitting all summer long. after getting it jumped started i got a room at a motel for the next few days and started to enjoy my winter off.

 over last winter i made some friends playing poker in seattle so i spent a couple days playing poker at the casino i played at. met up with one of the guys and got some dinner and talked and stuff like that. talked with a couple of the dealers and that was pretty much most of the meet and greets from poker. one of the guys that i became better friends with went back to canada so it was kinda lame not meeting up with him but its no biggie. also ended up losing 350$ over those 3 days which sucked cause i was up like 1200 before the last day i played there.

 when the weekend came i met up with my daygame wingman that i met there last winter and we decided to have a reuniting day game session and hit downtown seattle and the main mall that we went to for some approaches. over the whole weekend i approached almost 20 girls and got 2 numbers. one of the girls actually came through and we had a date set up. she ended up flaking on the date but came to my hotel room ( which i moved to hotel close to the date site ;) after she got off work. i ended up fucking it up and i could tell she wasnt comftorable and all we did was kiss 3 or 4 times before she left. it wouldve been awesome to have gotten that lay but no biggie shes a sweet girl and we've been keeping in touch since then so maybe on the way back up after the winter is over. after all that i picked up my friend from AK when he flew in and we were on our way to LA

 it took about a day and a half to get to LA because we stopped for a little bit but it was a pretty smooth drive. after making it here we stayed in a motel for about a week while we searched for apartments. it turned out to be a little tricky here cause almost all the apartments really want you to do a 1 year minimum lease and we are only here for 6 months. we were still able to find an apartment that would allow us to stay for 6 months ( after i pursuaded and upped the rent 100$) its exactly where i wanted to live on a really cool street with a lot of entertainment and in a nice neighborhood so it worked out.

 after we got settled in we began to start our cali life. since settling in ive played 7 sessions of cash games and 1 tourney but ill recap those in a minute. i also began to run a bit of daygame since ive been here. so far i got an email address from a low budget actress who hasnt flaked yet but shes gone for a month so we'll see and i got 3 numbers. one from a sales rep from seattle that comes here once a month and the way the interaction went it sounded like she was looking for a fuck buddie and said next time shes in town we might get together so again we'll see.

one number i got was actually from a few days ago from a pretty good looking hispanic looking girl and she said her ex is in the nfl but she hasnt textd back yet so she probably flaked. no biggie i would have had thoughts that theres no way my dick was as big as a nfl stars lol. and the last number i got was from an attractive 39 year old haha. she has been texting back and the whole theme has a little sexual tension behind it so i actually think i will end up banging her.

 poker was interesting since being here. when i first arrived and started playing 5/10 at the commerce i found out that they recently moved it to a different section and all the bad palyers were actually jumping into the 10/20nl games. wierd i know. well it was killing the 5/10 games and some nights the game would die out around 9pm where in the past there was like 4 games running. it turned into a happy ending though because they moved the games back over to the other side a few days ago and the games were looking good. the first 2 days i played ended well. the first day i played i got stuck 900$ before my aces held up in a 3600$ pot 3 ways and i left the night being up around 2600$. the next night went decent and the table i was on had a bad beat and the table share was 750$ so with that i ended the night around 2200$ up over the next few days when the games were still bad i ended up losing a little over 2 buyins. the tourney i played in went decent and i felt really good about how i played. i went out just after the bubble happend when my aces got cracked all in preflop and i won a little more than the minimum pay out. if you want more of a description on the tourney there is more in my last post.

there is one hand i want to post that was really interesting to me. this one was actually from the last night i played and if it wasnt for this hand i would be up about a buyin more than where i am at for the end of the month.

so there are 4 limpers and it gets to me on the button with AQ off suit and i raise it to 80$, the sb calls and the first limper shoves for 280$. it folds to me. the shove was from a fish who had been losing and just lost a big pot within a couple of orbits ago so i was fine calling it here but i didnt want to let the sb in either so i raised to 600$ the sb thinks for a while and shoves all in for 2500 and i had a total of 1800. the sb player was actually a really decent player he was between ABC/TAG but really patient and was all around a decent player. it was just a strange move but i figured he had TT or maybe JJ and didnt want to race for that much so i folded. the board runs out. of course bringing an ace on the river. and the fish shows KK and the sb folds. later i found out the sb recently came in 5th in the la poker open main event. which even more solidifies that hes a solid player.

the hand started to bother me more and more mainly because i put in 60bbs and folded. i thought about it and realized that he made a really advanced play. with me raising to 600$ theres an extra 320$ that i put in trying to isolate the fish. that means if the sb can get me to fold than he auto profits the side pot and pretty much is free rolling to suck out on the fish. so it didnt matter what the sb had as long as he was sure he could get me to fold. it was a tricky play but in the end he obviously decided my range was wider than a premium hand that would stack off 180bbs deep and he was right. a give him props but i now know that knowledge of the play and about him so it made me a little more advanced.

as poker goes i feel like im playing really well. im way focused at the tables and im paying so much attention to a lot of details and reading people for who they are and their playing styles and playing the game based off of all that information so i feel like im playing pretty damn close to my A game. im sitting up 2680$ for the month which im ok with.

my goal for the winter was 35k and now that the games are back to how they were im still going to shoot for it. ill have a better idea over the course of this next month so it will be more details on that on the next month recap. i also start my workout routine tomorrow and im pretty excited for that actually. its a really well planned out routine but im actually going to explain it more in detail in my next post, but thats a bit of details for this post and the month has gone pretty good. im glad im settled in and starting to enjoy my winter. loving life so far. so untill next time cosmonauts. stay tuned :)

poker goals and thoughts for the winter and 250k garunteed tourney results

the title of the post sums up what i want to talk about. also the hustler casino is running a short tournament series so i found an event that i liked and took a shot at it so I'll recap that event as well. for now I'll start with my goals and thoughts on poker for the winter.

well its been about a week now since i started grinding here in L.A. and im having some mixed feelings about it. at the beginning of the summer i had the thought of moving to florida for the winter and grinding 5/10 there. about half way through the summer I think i came across a thread about california poker and my views changed. i read more threads on LA poker and how profitable it was and i got even more excited to move so i changed my destination to LA instead of florida.

when i got here and started grinding the 5/10 tables weren't how everyone had described them and there wasnt 6-10 of them running there was 2. i found out that a month before i got there they moved the games over to the  "high" limit area of the casino where the 10/20 plays and since then the action for the 5/10 has started to drizzle away. although its lame that the games aren't as juicy as i read about and in fact are pretty solid i still have a little faith. the lapc will be running in about a month and it lasts for 2 months which should bring some action to the 5/10 games. im not so concerned about having to play against tougher opponents its just id rather play against worse opponents :) plus my win rate is going to suffer. i checked out a few other casinos in the past couple of days but the highest game that was being spread was 5/5 with a 1000 buyin which was actually a decent game (although i lost 1400 :/ ) its pretty much a 2/5 nl game just with a 5 sb. if the 5/10 game dies out this winter than i will have to play that game but again my winrate will suffer.

i gave myself pretty reasonable goals this winter based on the information that i found. from everything that i read it sounded like making 60-80$ an hour was totally reasonable at the 5/10 games and the top players were even making close to 100/hr. at the 2/5 in washington last year i was averaging 32/hr so this year i gave myself a goal to atleast make 40-50/hr and try to make 35k. i found that goal totally reasonable and if anything it was even easily achievable. well now that the games are getting so bad it might even be difficult to make those goals. only time will really tell so we'll find out in the end. i'm still going to put loads of effort into my game and really try to improve, win, and be consistent with my game this winter. so yes i am still going to shoot for the 35k but if i dont get there but i feel like i played really well at the end of my stay and things just didnt work out then i will settle for that. im still going to try my damdist to make that 35k though.

like i mentioned the lapc event is going to start in about a month. i do actually plan on playing in a few events. they've got a few deepstacked events with pretty good structures that i am going to shoot for. a 340$ event, a 550$ event and a 1100$ event. i know ill play the first 2 but if im running bad or im on a dowswing or somthing ill probably skip the 1100$ event and since we're on the topic of tourneys i should talk about the tourney i played at the hustler casino.

so i found out that the hustler casino was running a short 3 week series and a few of the tourneys actually had decent structures. an event was coming up the next day so i decided to go play. it was a 210$ event with a 16k starting stack. blinds start at 50/100 and the first two levels were an hour long. every level after that was 30minutes. so it was an ok structure. 1st place was garunteed 40k which was sweet. it had like 8 day 1 events and then like the 9th day the field from each day comes back to play the last bit of the tourney. they payed 12% of the field from each day and 6% of the field from each day would go onto the final day. the day i played it got 265 players. so 32 got payed and the last 16 players moved onto the final day.

in the early rounds i picked up KK and was able to get all my money in on the river and almost doubled up so i was sitting with like 30k and was able to pick my spots for a good few hours after that. i made a couple 3 bet squeezes from people that i felt were opening a little wide in late position  and was able to take the pots down preflop holding things like 96 suited and 78 off suit. when the antes kicked in i already had views on how i was going to play the table. i started to attack the spots i wanted to and everytime i did i got resistance so it wasnt really working out for me. by this time almost the whole table were different players from the start of the tourney so i adjusted to how the table dynamics were and tightened up a bit. i was about 15bbs when a guy from mp opened and there was a call. and it came to me on the button. he had opened wide a couple times before in that spot and showed down one being 89 suited. i had enough chips that i felt like if i shoved than he would fold and i would pick up the pot. i had 10 4 of diamonds and shoved. he took a long time before saying. "well lets gamble then" ....FUCK.. he flips over 9 10 of hearts. the board brings a 4 and the turn is a blank and the river is another 4 and i double up.  THE CROWD GOES WILD AS THE DONK DOUBLES UP WOOOOOOO!@!!!

haha. so after that i still didnt have a huge stack just sat around 35bb i tried taking stabs at a couple pots and never got anything going i did get a couple premium pairs but didnt get past the flop with them. our table broke and i was sitting with like 12-15bbs again i was at a point that i couldnt really make any big moves and watched my stack dwindle down to about 7bbs with huge stacks all around me. i picked up AA and shoved pre and got called. by K6 of diamonds flop was 4 9 Q one diamond. turn was a 2 of diamonds. river was a 5 of diamonds and i was out. i did cash for 350$ for a profit of 140$ wooooo!! although my aces got cracked and i was actually about 10 players away from making it to day 2 i feel really good about my play and im actually really pleased with how it went especially since i havnt played a tourney in about a year. so ill be looking foreward to the LApc events for sure.

as of now ive had a couple bad days at the casino mostly from just playing bad which i absoloutely hate doing. im still up for the month but hopefully i can make these last 2 days count and get some winning scores. so untill next time cosmonauts. stay tuned :)

settling in L.A.

I know its been a little while since my last post but we finally got an apartment this last week and we just got internet set up 2 days ago so that was the reason behind the waiting. I have a lot of posts i really want to do but i'm  thinking i might be a little lazy and just do a few in the next week about all the things i want to talk about. so for this post i'll just sum up how things have been going so far and what my plans are from here and my thoughts on things.

me and my friend got here either the night of the 8th or the 9th and started looking for apartments. there are a ton of apartments all throughout L.A. but the main problem is that the vast majority of them only do a 1 year lease and we are only here for 6 months. i kinda already knew this and figured i would have to do some persuasion with the land lord to find an apartment. about 5 days after arriving we had a couple apartments that were possibly able to do a 6 month lease and a couple days later we had an apartment. the apartment is in the exact area i wanted to live and in a really popular part of the town so the location is awesome. the apartment itself has some ups and downs to it but im not complaining.... yet

the inside of the apartment is pretty nice it was recently remodeled so it has a lot of new aplliances and stuff but weve been having troubles with the electricity which the landlord seems to be a little slow on resolving the problem but nothing that is discomforting. there are some appliances that dont work which isnt a big deal to me cause i dont use them but still its kind of lame to have a place with broken appliances. so it's kind of a give and take i suppose. its a nice apartment in general in a really popular part of town really close to a lot of things but it has a couple downsides to it. all in all i'll be fine living here for the next 5 months.

LA living so far has been pretty fun. since i have my friend here its even more enjoyable being able to enjoy some things with someone else so that is a big plus. we live about 30 minutes from santa monica and venice beach.

the traffic is crazy at certain parts of the day. theres usually always a little bit of traffic no matter what time of day but nothing to crazy but if you're out in rush hour you're in for a wait. it might have been a fluke but it took me 2 hours to get home the night before thanksgiving when i was stuck in traffic (probably from thanksgiving traffic) but there seems to be a lot of entertainment and plenty of things to do so there should always be room to have fun.

the girls here are like nothing i can compare to. when we first arrived we were stunned by how many good looking girls there are. dont get me wrong there are not so good looking ones as well but coming from alaska and the ratio of good looking girls there compared to here is no where close. ive been doing a bit of day game and ive probably approached about 25 girls or so but nothing too solid yet. a couple days ago i approached a girl that is an actress in low budget films and she didnt want to give her phone number so we swapped emails.....weird... but i emailed her and she emailed me back. shes gone for a month so maybe something will happen when she gets back. besides that i have tons of plans for daygame this winter and i would really like to get a fling or relationship or something for the winter or 3-4 months but im fine with whatever kind of garbage the sewers will wash my way as well... maybe ;)

poker has been a little interesting since i started playing. im up 3.5k right now in the last 4 sessions which is good but there might be some darkness in the future. the commerce casino has two areas that they spread their poker games. the normal area and then the "high stakes" area or the hotel side as they call it. well the 5/10 game use to be in the normal area where all the rest of the games were. and when it was there it would usually get a lot of action because players from lower limits or players from the half stack 5/10 games would come over and from what everyone says there would almost always at a minimum be 4-5 tables of 5/10 going. well they transfered the 5/10 over the to "high stakes" side and now for some reason every one who was playing 5/10 is starting to transfer over to 10/20. i think the reason for this is that the minimum buy in for 5/10 is 500 and the min buyin for 10/20 is 600 so the bad players probably think that well i can just buy in for 100 more and ill win more or however bad players think. anyways it has been killing the 5/10 game yesterday there wasnt a 5/10 game and today there was 2 tables and they killed off by 9pm but there was 5 tables of 10/20 ???? yeah figure that one out for me. so im going to try the bicycle casino out in a couple of days and see what there 5/10 is like. the only hope that the 5/10 at the commerce that i have is that the LAPC is going to happen in about a month so hopefully that will bring some action to the 5/10, or the other hope is that i know some regs have been complaining about the 5/10 dying out so maybe they will switch it back to the normal area.

now all that complaining isnt horrible it just means that it's going to be harder to make a big profit. my goal for this winter is 35k but if the games stay how they are then it is going to be tough. i really dont mind only having 1 or 2 tables to choose from, i did that all last winter playing 2/5 in seattle.  the only issue i have with it is that 9 out of 10 players that do play the 5/10 now seem to be pretty solid which again makes it really tough it might be more profitable to play the 5/5 buyin of 500$ than the 5/10 but i really want to play 5/10 this winter. well thats all for me about complaining about poker. i am playing a tournament tomorrow at the hustler casino so that will be cool to check out and it will be my first live tourney in almost a year so that will be fun. its actually a decent tourney for like 200$ with a decent blind structure and i think 1st place is garunteed 15k or something like that so we'll see waht happens. i want to play a few tournaments this winter and the LAPC schedule came out this last week and i plan on playing a few events in it so im feeling good and think i will do well. fingers crossed.

so i think my next post will be about my goals for this winter and any views or thoughts im thinking about so far i do like LA but ill be able to decide more after the winter is over. untill next time cosmonauts. stay tuned :)

from L.A. with love.

i have been in LA for about a week now and things have been a bit of a rollercoaster.

trying to find an apartment has turned out to be a little difficult. its not that there aren't any vacancies it's because 95% of the apartments only do a year lease. we have found a couple that are considering doing a 6 month lease after i told them they can raise the rent a couple hundred bucks if we can have a 6 month lease but with the veterans day weeknd we pretty much had to wait untill tomorrow to call back on them.

in the mean time we drove around quite a bit of L.A. and looked at some different neighborhoods. pretty much figured that most of west LA is a decent area and the more central you get and to the east is when it starts to get ghetto. it also has been a little challenging trying to find a place that is close to entertainment, the beach, the commerce casino, and good daygame spots. i did some research before i got here on where i wanted to live and so far its proving to be the right spot. i would like to live in the santa monica area but since im wont be able to stay longer than 6 months and dont feel like paying 3k a month for rent then theres not really a chance i will. on the bright side if i do ever live in LA for a year or longer. i will try to live in the santa monica area.

since arriving we've went to the beach, checked out various shopping areas and malls, checked out the bike and commerce casino, as well as indulged in some restruants  that are pretty west coast exclusive. (in N out burger). i did manage to do a few approaches since getting here jsut for the fun of it. i ended up approaching a girl that i would put money on that she was a pornstar or at least a stripper. super fit body and huge fake tits. no results though, actually kinda feel a little rusty. my main focus is just trying to get an apartment and set up right now and then i will start to do the really fun stuff.

so far its been enjoyable and fun but a little exhausting and kind of overwhelming. whenever i have moved to a new place like this in the past it has always been a little overwhelming trying to get settled in but once i do then everything smooths out. right now we have been bouncing between motels but last night we stayed in my truck just to cut down on costs a little bit which was damn near painful. pretty funny looking back on it but yeah it wasnt so enjoyable.

the girls here are way hotter than ive ever seen (besides vegas) and there is an abundence of them. when me and my friend first got here we were like "look at her" "no look at her" "wait no look at her" haha. dont get me wrong the girls here aren't all super hot and every where you look but this is the first time ive been around so many hot girls so day game should go really well this winter.

 i wanted to take a picture with my arms spread wide and started to do so, before my friend took the picture a random girl came over and leaned against me so i wrapped my arm around her for the pose. for some reason i didnt talk to her after that.... if that wasnt a big hint that a girl wanted you to talk to her than i dont know what

for now we are just hanging out today and tomorrow we will call back on some apartments and hopefully be moving into one by the end of the week so i can start achieving my goals. thats all for now though so untill next time cosmonauts stay tuned :)

pit stop, fun in seattle

i just had way too much fun in seattle so far not to make this post about it, but i was planning on doing my next post on a recap of how my season went. so last couple days of work were shitty but we got it done and i spent a couple more days in alaska getting what i needed to be done dealt with.

 i flew into seattle at 11am and got a taxi to where my truck and cargo trailer with all my things were being stored at.... so far so good. the taxi ride was interesting. i had an african driver (not racist) that actually gave some good conversation. we got into a conversation about how people really don't go after they want and tend to just follow what has already been done or stay wherever they feel comftorable. it's just fun talking to people that think like you. hope that guy goes after what he wants, he seemed like a good guy....so far so good.

 once arriving at the storage lot i got all my bags and went to my truck. unlocked my truck and tried to start it and nothing.....not so good. i did expect it though. i was just hoping the cab driver would be able to give me a jump start but he had an electric car so no go. i went to the main office and they had a battery charger so i put that on the battery and it started up pretty fast. once i got everything set i drove my truck a few hours because it had been sitting for the last 6 months. after that i got a motel room and withdrew some money at the bank and headed to the casino.

i was hoping to see some familliar faces that i became friends with but there wasn't too many. just getting back to the tables felt sooo good and felt right at home. the first day went slow and over 6 hours i only won a 100$ the next day i was up 850$ at one point and was debating leaving. usually i leave when im up if it gets slow for an hour or so afterwards. well there was some scheduling i was trying to do that i will talk about in a minute so i ended up staying a little longer. lost a few haundred and then this hand happend.

2 limpers in ep, hijack who is a lag fish raises to 20$, button who i figured for an abc player calls 20$. im in the bb with AQ of dimonds. im sure im way ahead of the hijacks range and figure the same for the button since he didnt raise either. so i 3bet to 75$

when he calls the flop i put him on a range of KQ suited and jj-88. i could possibly see him calling with big suited connectors like JT suited or 89 suited pre flop but since he called the flop i threw those out of his range. im not totally sure if someone like him would have 55, 66, 56, or 78 in there hand. i think he views me as a young kid trying to take the money preflop and following up with a cbet so i could really see him calling the flop with the mid pairs. "JUST ONE TIME" right

im getting like 3.5 to 1 to call so i do and miss the river. he shows 78 off suit for a straight and scoops the pot. nice hand sir.

my big concern was how i played the turn. picking up so much equity on the turn is it better to just check seeing how jj-88 most likely will check back and if i bet then the only thing that calls is something that beats me???? im not 100% sure what the right line is in that spot. in a small pot im fine with betting the turn. even if i get raised i can call with big implied odds. but at the time the pot was really big so im kinda leaning toward a check on the turn what do you guys think? also put the hand on 2+2

anyway i was down 400 after that and decided to pick up. i wasnt going to play anymore after that because i had different plans so im ending my stay in seattle down 300$ no biggie. i later came back to the casino to meet up with a poker friend and we got sushi and talked a bit so that was fun.

the next day i had planed for doing some daygame with my wingman that i met here last year. we ended up going to downtown seattle for a couple hours to start the day off since it wasnt raining yet. it was fun being with a wing and we were both a little rusty so after a few approaches i was back in the groove. it did start to get a little rainy so we headed to the big mall about 20 miles away where we did most of our daygame last year in the winter. i dont know if it was just because i was excited to be out doing day game, or if it was because i was with him or what but i was doing approaches i never done before. i talked to a mother daughter, basically hitting on the daughter with the mothers permission haha. i stopped 3 girls walking to talk to them which ive never done. and i approached girls in shops that were working which my wing taught me how to do it, so heres the results.

i was able to do 18 approaches in like 10 hours over 2 days. i got 2 number, and an instant date. where you take a girl for coffee or whatever right then and there and talk more.

and heres the juicy details. so the girl that i took on the instant date was a very cute romanian girl with olive skin and dark hair and vibrant red lipstick. i felt like i ran really good game on her and we talked for a total of about 20 minutes.

i got her number and began texting her a few hours later. we texted back and forth for the next day and we set up a date for the day after that after she got off work. from what i could tell she was way down and she was putting in a lot of investment so i was certain she liked me and was all for it. i got everything set up for our date and planned everything out so it would go really smoothley. i even moved into a better hotel that was like 1/4 mile away from where our date was. well about 15 minutes before she got off work and when we were supposed to meet up she started to get cold feet. i still felt like i ran good game on her and never had to "convince" her to see me. she ultimately flaked on the date but she did come over to the hotel..... BUM BUM BUMMMMM  she came up to my room and this is where i really fucked up. we started talking about just random shit and i could tell she was a little nervous. this is the most crucial part that counts the most and i am supposed to make her feel comftorable. maybe start talking about her family or what her goals and dreams are and really just try to get her to really feel comftorable with me. instead i didnt do that and talked about meaningless shit. i did lean in and kiss her which shortly afterwards she got even more nervous and suggested she had to go. which leads back to the importance of making her feel comftorable. we both stood up and walked to the door. where we began kissing again and again she persisted that she shoud leave....it wasnt going to happen.  i walked her down to the lobby and we kissed again and she left. shortly after she sent me a text saying only "im a virgin"  which i HIGHLY! doubt but if she is i respect it. it all came down to me not making her feel comftorable so lesson learned. she is a really attractive and sweet girl and we do have a really good spark together. i told her we'll keep in contact and when i come back through seattle after my winter in LA that i would come see her so we'll see.

so thats where i sit now. alone in this pricey hotel room typing my story lol but it was all really fun and my stay here was awesome with lots of fun times so definitely worth it and in about 6 hours ill be on the road driving to LA. again i dont know when the next time i will update but ill keep it posted. so untill next time cosmonauts stay tuned :)

october review

i know its almost a week before the end of october but seeing how i'm not going to have any more results i will just post now while i can. this post will most likely be pretty short due to the fact that not a whole lot happened this month.

 poker went decent actually the main thing i did this month was switched from playing 8 tables to 4 tables. i guess im just not the 24 tabling phenom i use to be or maybe i just dont have the time for it either or. anyways i actuallingy like play 4 tables as weird as it seems. i think in general i am more of a live player now and i like live poker more than online now. so in that case i like being able to make my decisions and watch my tables while i play online. thats my excuse anyways and im sticking to it :p i was able to make a whopping 3.75 buyins this month lol. i was actually up about 6 and then my last 2 sessions i played 25nl and my first session went ok but my second i lost 1.5 buyins due to just running shitty. i was able to amass an astounding 3350 hands. woooo haha. looking back on the month though for the poker that i did play i liked how everything was going and felt i played pretty well for the most part.

daygame was pretty slim. due to it pretty much almost being winter here its almost like people go into hybernation mode and dont really go out that much. when i did go out to run some day game i really didnt have that many opportunities to talk to girls. i was able to rack up 8 approaches but i didnt get any numbers or dates :( its all good though. soon enough ill be in southern california where i plan on just crushing day game. looking back on what i was able to accomplish this month with daygame i again felt pleased with my performance. with day game and poker its like a never ending cycle of me trying to get better so im consistantly trying to improve which i see as positive.

 the life category has been the worst i suppose. since i have been working 12 hours a day everyday this month my life is pretty much just sleep work, poker, and daygame. i did go out to lunch with the girl i was seeing for most the summer and hung out with friends a couple days and a couple lunches here or there but nothing real exciting.

some bad new for me though im afraid. theres talk of us staying and working till november 10th, which is actually my bday. it will set my schedule back about a week which in all reality isnt that horrible but i really want to get the fuck out of this place so i can be in LA and grinding 5/10 and doing the things i want to do instead of working 12 hours a day in the freezing cold. right now its kinda like we might or might not be staying but im just pretty much going to say we are. i mean its an extra paycheck but sometimes money isnt everything expecially when your going boarderline insane.

 either way eventually ill get out of this place and be doing the fun and exciting things i want to do. ill be moving out of my place in about 5 days so this will be my last post for probably a couple weeks. ill try to update when i can and fill in on the adventure but untill then stay tuned cosmonauts :)

final 10 days!

I'm finally into a 10 day countdown at work before i'm on my adventure to grind in L.A for the winter. man am i excited. i'm starting to sleep less because my excitement is so high. that's neither here nor there. on to the real news.

so poker has been going ok for 4 tabling. i think im up 5.5 buyins for the month which is only like 2500 hands haha. the weird thing this week is that on merge only 1 maybe 2 games of 10nl were going on at the time i was playing but there was on average 8-10 25nl games going. i decided a couple weeks ago that when i get to L.A. im going to start grinding 25nl. it wont be for money but still just practice im going to be spending 95% of my card playing at the commerce playing 5/10 most likely or wherever else there are juicy 5/10 games.

ill have like 35-40 buyins for 25nl when i start playing which i usually play with 75-100 but im pretty sure i wont be a losing player at 25nl and if i have to ill deposit 500$ more. guess i want to start playing a little harder players for better practice and win a little money online we'll see how it goes.

daygame was pretty slow pretty much this whole month. this weeknd i did 2 approaches which was pretty lame. kinda funny stories with both of them though. the first girl i approached was a young blonde girl and i stop her and she gets a phone call and its her boyfriend, she goes thanks. but thats my boyfriend walking this way. woops haha. next girl i talk to was a 2set and i stop both of them and the girl on the right goes hey i know you, you tried to talk to me and my other friend about a month ago. yeah... that didn't go anywhere. i think ive only approahced the same girl like 5 times since doing daygame and its only awkward for like 30 seconds no biggie. makes for a good laugh afterwards. so im pretty much done doing daygame before i leave cause ill be busy pretty much up untill i leave.

the life section was ok i suppose. the girl i was seeing for most the season ended up meeting up with me to go out to lunch and see each other one last time. just talked and what not, no spicy details unfortunitley. other than that not much. ive got 12 working days left of work but 10 actual days of us doing the job. i plan on putting in a few more sessions of poker before i shut off my internet and start cleaning my apartment and move out of here. i wont have internet after that and i dont know when i will. once i do i will do a month recap and updates. i should have took some pictures of my apartment cause its a pretty nice place. i plan on taking more pictures and videos to post to the blog so things will be even more entertaining.

so my friends next post will be the start of when things start to get interesting. expect plenty of stories, good and bad. filled with probably a lot of drama and excitement. so untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

cant expect too much

this post will probably be short and sweet seeing how things were pretty short and sweet this week.

poker was actually decent this week. i recently moved down to only playing 4-6 tables instead of 10-12 and ive seen a big difference. ive won every one of my sessions (which i think is 5) except for 1 session where at the last 10 minutes of the session were all in on the turn and he has a flush draw and gets there so just unlucky there. so far things are going good just 4 tabling. i guess i just cant put enough concentration into my hands when im mass tabling or maybe i just have to get use to doing it again since besides this summer ive been away from online for 2 years.

there wasnt really much at all going on in the life category. we ended up doing some test dredging in a new area which was a pretty far crew boat ride so we put in three 14 hour days. we are going to end up working the rest of the job with no days off so i wont really have any real free time but thats ok only 2.5 more weeks.

pickup was decent, although i only approached 2 girls this weeknd i like how the interactions went. well the first one actually didnt go far and that was my fault. only going out on the weeknds kinda makes you a little rusty untill you do a few approaches. the first one was pretty much a rejection and i looked back on it and was like oh yeah i didnt even smile when i approached her. smiling is huge when you approach a girl. you can get away with a lot of shit if you give a cheeky smile and its a must in day game. on saturday i went to the mall and only did one approach but the interaction went really well and i felt like i did things really well. we talked for about 10 minutes and when i went to get her number i found out she had a boyfriend. we werent really into the same things but i still would have spent a night with her which i kinda suggested haha but yeah although i didnt get a number i really liked that approach cause i felt like i did everything i was supposed to do in a pretty smooth way so yeah it was fun.

if anyone is interested in daygame there are plenty of sites out there but the main company that i clicked with and follow is called daygame.com they are in london and dont really have a presence here in america but everything that they do with daygame is genuine and how they go about things is really good. like i said i just clicked with how they did things and im glad i found them because it made daygame so much more fun and enjoyable.

so yeah just 2.5 more weeks and then i should be done and out of here. thank god too, i mean i grew up in alaska and im thankful for everything it has given me but man i can not stand this place. plus it snowed last night which makes me want to get out of here that much more. anyways ill stop complaining so untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned.

getting closer!

things are still going as they have been for the past i dont know feels like forever so ill just jump into the details.

life was boring as shit this week. just working 7 days a week 12 hours a day same grind day in and day out. the only good thing is i got 3.5 weeks left and then im out of here and back onto the felt.

poker was a little interesting in one aspect. after my first session which i lost. i decided to try and lower the number of tables that ive been playing. i have been playing 8-10 tables but at times it almost seemed overwhelming. i use to 24 table 10nl on stars but that was 2 years ago. i think after playing live for 2 years and not playing online till this summer my thinking got a little slower (not worse! just slower ). which isnt a bad thing. also on merge their time bank activates after like 5 seconds and then it starts a ticking noise like a clock. meanwhile any tables you havent attended to will start to ding consistantly and theres a lot of noise making you feel rushed which adds to the factor of not being able to think on the fly. you can turn the sound off but then sometimes the tables skip and youll get sat out and its only like 5 minutes before they kick you off the table so thats no good. anyways, after playing 4 tables i think i almost prefer playing like 4-6 tables rather than mass tabling. i can really focus on my opponents and the playing styles and tendancies and adjust or make the plays that i need to. since playing 4 tables both my sessions after my first losing session have been winning sessions so we'll see how it goes. also i think next summer when i come back up if i havnt won enough this winter online i will deposit a little more and just grind 4 table of 25nl instead of 10 tabling 10nl makes sense right.

day game was ok i suppose. if i remember at the end of last month i dont believe i did any approaches. so this weeknd when i went out i had a little butterflies in my stomach. to tell you the truth it actually felt good to be nervous and i almost invite the feeling and look foreward to it. after approaching non stop sometimes it can lose the initial spark so its good to take breaks every once and a while.

this weeknd i was able to do 3 approaches but no resulsts. 1 girl i wish i could have continued the conversation with her because i felt like it was just about to hook really well and she was starting to invest a bit but her friend came out of the restroom and off they went, oh well next time.

this next week will probably be pretty lame all around. we have to go to a different spot at work which is going to add an extra 2 hours on to our shifts so ill be working 14 hours for 4 days which will ruin my poker time but i will probably still do a little game. also theyre trying to not have any more days off untill we're done with the job  which is fine. so ill have about 3 more weeks of doing my regular routine and then ill have to shut everything down for the big move to LA

so yeah this post was pretty cut and dry and the next few will probably be the same. good news though is that come november things will be sooo much more fun. so untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

really out did myself this time- september review

so glad this month has finally ended for multiple reasons, also this month so far has been the most action packed month. too bad it wasnt good.

ill start with life. well this has a little to do with daygame as well but earlier in the month me and the girl i had been seeing when i first got back into alaska ended up splitting up. it never ment to be a serious relationship and pretty much ran its course so it wasnt a huge deal but still wasnt fun by any means. i also only had one day off this month which has been pretty stressful and its starting to wear on my body physically and mentally. this month was pretty much all around exhausting but it did seem to go by pretty fast which i thought it would do so thats a plus. only having 1 day off from work means i didnt really have much of a life. i hung out with my friends on my day off that was pretty much it. yeah pretty boring.

daygame was somewhat of a let down. i think i only went out 3 weeknds and from what i remember there wasnt hardly any girls out. it has got a lot colder especially in the last 2 weeks (even snowed once which was crazy!) so when its like that its almost like the girls go into hybrination. i ended up doing 8 approaches and got 1 number a couple days ago. i sent her a couple messages but didnt get a reply so she flaked. i felt like she would cause ive been skipping out on a pretty important step in the conversations which is building comfort. usually you open, build attraction and then go into comfort. well sometimes when youre all caught up in the moment its easy to forget to go into comfort before you end the conversation and thats why they flake. its something i have to work on but ill be able to put in a lot more effort when im in cali in a couple months.

poker was by far the biggest let down although i feel fine with my results. i ended up losing 75$ (7.5 buyins) but with rake back i only ended up being down 60$ in a massive 7000 hands. dammmmnnn!! i put in some volume. yeah jk. the reason i dont feel to bad about my results is because i felt like i played pretty well. i also had an insane losing session that lasted an hour that i talked about a couple posts ago. none the less its still another losing month which marks my 2nd losing month in 2.5 years. but ill say it again cause its my favorite excuse to run to :) if i were able to put in a decent amount of volume then im sure i wouldnt have losing months. hopefully this is the poker gods way of toying with me so that when i got to cali and play 5/10 then ill just destroy the game. i can hear it now " WAIT! this guy isnt even beating 10nl and he thinks he can beat 5/10"  thats someone who hasnt read my blog before haha. i actually encourage degrading comments or trolling because it gives me more motivation to succeed.

october will probably be my favorite month for the reason because when its done i get to leave this horrible place and move to LA and do the things i want to do for 6 months. god i cant wait. october will probably be really low on volume and content. ill do the same routine for the first few weeks with daygame and poker but then i have to start organizing things and whatever else it takes for me to get ready to move. im not really expecting to much results from october, mainly just a practice month before i get to the real thing but ill still put effort into it like i would ordinarily.

well just this last month guys and things will really start to get fun and entertaining. also in the future i think i am going to try and add some videos of me maybe doing some approaches or playing some live hands and whatever else i want to put on her. its going to get really fun anyways untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

relizations in september

to continue from last week this week has continued in the shityness and un excitement factors which we all know.. is no fun.

life was pretty dull ive been working 7 days a week 12 hours a day for the past 3 weeks and today was my only day off. im starting to get burned out and exhausted of work and the routine and i couldnt wait for this day off. i planned on not doing much of anything and thats exactly what im doing. when i got off work yesterday i did go and hang out with some friends and just chilled and got some food but other than that the week has been really uneventful.

hang in there with me though guys 6 more weeks and ill be on the plane to seattle where the winter journey and excitement will start.

work went pretty shitty this week as well, since we've been working 5 months now everyone is starting to get a little on edge from the grind and tempers are starting to show. i hate this part of the job because its just an annoying process to deal with but im still makin that dolla girrllllll ! lol so yeah im dealing with that till the rest of the job which hopefully will go really fast.

poker was as lame this week, which is where my realization came but ill talk about that in a second. well since my horrible day last week on monday i booked a 2.5 buyin win which was cool and then the next 2 days i played i lost it and now pretty much sit even for the week which is the lame part. im not sure if ill play today or not i dont think i will though.

daygame this week wasss........ can you guess it..... yeah, lame. i actually didnt do any daygame this week. friday i had plans that fell through so i didnt do anything and yesterday when i got off work i didnt want to do anything so i didnt. also i big factor was since my body has been under a bit of stress lately my face has broken out with blemishes a little bit which looks lovely. a saying in the pick up community is if you look good youll feel good. well i wasnt feeling good about my looks so i know it would have effected my mentality.

so my realizations about poker are mainly volume based. after playing for most the summer while working 6-7 days a week 12 hours a day im usually booking between 5-10 hours of play a week. more so around 5 though. and besiedes june when i had my tonsils taken out and was able to put in more volume im pretty much averaging around 10-15k hands a month which anyone who grinds regularly knows that really not even worth talking about in terms of volume. so over the summer if you add all my hands up i realized that if i were to be able to grind regularly maybe 8 hours a day than i could do my whole summers worth of volume in about 2 weeks. what that kinda leads to is all this "varriance" ive been having over the last couple months isnt really major varriance at all and its just a normal swing in terms of hands played. thats my excuse anyways so let me be happy. also the only month that i was a decent winner ( 32 buyins) was june which is when i had my tonsils taken out and i put in like 60k hands i think. basically i never really tried playing this summer for the winnings but more for the practice for when i move to l.a. so i can keep my mind fresh but it has still been frustrating pretty much breaking even for like the past 3 months even if it is only like 25k hands.

the anticipation is starting to build as my time gets closer and closer before i leave. i only have like 40 days untill im out of here so lets hope i can stay sane for that long. untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned :)

the break up

for those readers that read my last post i said i would go into more description about the breakup and relationship i just got done with so this post i will be talking about my thoughts on that relationship

when i first got back to alaska for this summer i had about a week before i started work. before that i was doing a little daygame and within the first 10 approaches from me getting back i got 2 numbers that didnt flake. one of the girls ended up fizzling out but the other girl didnt. her name was lauren and thats where it started.

i was able to land a first date with her and basically swept her off her feet. i like to think i was doing all the prince charming type things girls wish a guy would do. on the first date we actually went a little deep into each others backgrounds and i was able to figure out that she had a wild past. after the date i remember thinking that i would never try to date her seriously because i didnt think she was proper girlfriend material. that being said i still liked her and we had chemistry. from there we had a second date where we figured out each other more and the sexual tension started to build. the 3rd "date" she ended up spending the night and we sealed the deal.

congruent to her personality was her sexual side as well. she was wild in bed and the sex was fantastic probably the best ive had. well from there we started seeing each other about once a week depending on how our schedules went. we went out dancing together, went to a concert. out to dinner, and other venues like that. she was fun and we both enjoyed each others time but it was only a matter of time.

a little background on me is that the two previous longterm relationships ive had the girls ended up cheating on me. ive also had problems with giving people to much credit for their word and being let down. after all that adds up it ends up with me having horrible trust issues. (all talk about that a little later) as well as comitment issues. jealousy isnt that big of a thing. i mean ill get jealous if my girl is hanging around another guy but i dont show it the major thing i do is just really start to question the trust of her and everything that deals with that.

so after i found out about her wild past and what type of girl she is im concerns were on alert mode. the only thing that kept me around and not run away was the fact that she was going to therapy and trying to change her life cause she didnt like her past. and to be honest from how she described her past she was nothing like that person anymore. of course that didnt stop my insecurities.

anytime she would bring up a friend that was guy that she would hang out with i would get upset and then we would banter about it. it was my biggest weakness but we were dealing with it. after all we werent going to get serious anyways. after spending time together things would come up that i just didnt really care for in her life. her lifestyles, friends, family, goals and other things. i recognized this but id didnt stop me from seeing her. like i said it was just a summer relationship and that was it. all that mattered was that we liked eachother and we had good chemistry so we clicked.

well it was almost 5 months of dating when we got into an argument and then of course my trust issues came out and we got into a bigger argument and she left my place pretty upset. after a few days she came back over to talk about everything and the talk was more about the whole relationship. i liked her a lot but i wouldnt ever try to have anything serious with her because although she never did anything bad i just dont think i could get over her past even if i didnt have any issues with me. when we talked about the relationship thats what it came down to. she was starting to have more feelings for me. she never said it but i think she was pretty close to love. she told me that she could see that i didnt like her for who she was. what she was deep down which included everything. her life, passions, friends and everything. i did like a lot of things about her but she was right. when it came down to it i really didnt like who she truely was and if she wanted a serious relationship then she does deserve someone who will accept her and lover her for everything that she was.

not to forget me either, after learning all this daygame stuff i decided i while ago i would never settle for less. with lauren if i would have got serious with her than i would have although thats mean to say i feel like i deserve way more if i wanted a serious girlfriend (but i dont). in the end the relation ship was perfect for what it was. a fun short term exciting summertime fling and i think she would agree. breakups are never fun and im still a little bummed out but looking back on it i enjoyed it a lot. after the break up a couple major things dawned on me. 1 was that i need therapy for my issues, and 2 was i questioned what i really wanted out of a relationship.

i plan on getting into therapy next summer when i come back to alaska to try and help with mainly my commitment and trust issues but im sure we'll go into more indepth issues. as far as what i want out of a relationship its a little fuzzy. i know i dont want a long term super serious relationship for a few reasons. right now my life is a little speratic i plan on moving to a different state every 6 months for atleast the next 3 years so thats the main reason. plus im a big statistics guy and the numbers arent in the favor of marriage. one night stands are fine for sex but i want more. i like short term relationships and after i met lauren i kinda hesitated with her and she said "let whatever happens happen" and i went with it. i like that approach cause if you dont work out then you just end it. if it turns out great then you should have a lot of fun for the duration of the relationship.

ive always hated breaking up and with my 2 serious relationships the breakups for me were a horrible experience and im still haunted with the memories from the last one. i think one of the major reasons was cause of the horrible lonliness i would feel and not knowing whats next and having to wait. now that ive found daygame its all changed. if a relationship ends i feel like i can do my grieving and move on a lot quicker because i have the skills to find another high valued girl to fulfill my life, and i mostly come to realize that this last week after the break up.

as for right now ill run daygame but i doubt ill get much success before i leave just because of the horrible selection in alaska and the limited time i have to run game and the time i have left. its fine though because soon enough ill be in LA which is one of the best places to daygame in the world and i should have plenty of women in my life so that will be exciting.

all in all though i learned a lot from lauren especially who i was and wanted as a person. we are going to stay friends and i think we will end up good friends as long as we stay in contact. she my first relationship shince running daygame so shes definitley memorable and i enjoyed my time with her but for now its time to move on. so heres to her....
