january and week recap

well the first month of the new year has come and gone and ill just say it was my most profitable month at poker since ive started playing the game. i feel like talking about poker first and then ill dive into life and pickup after.

so to start the month i was in a bit of an upswing and i was able to ride on that for about 3 weeks i only had a couple losing sessions inbetween that time. then i won a satalite into a 1k tournament and that just added to how the month was going. at that point was when i started to experience a little varriance and the next week was a little up and down. i also played in the tournament and busted out in 80th out of 110. i actually liked the tournament and it had a good structure and was all around a good tournament but i just couldnt get anything going really and made a couple plays at the wrong time and that was about it. so the last few sessions of the month i was able to level out a couple losses and i ended the month +6025. at the start of the month i decided that anytime i had a stack of 1000 or over and i had like an hour afterwards where it would get slow than i would pick up. i started doing that this month because last month it seemed anytime my stack got up to 1000-1500 i would eventually lose like 300 before i got up to leave so this month i decided to try it out and it seemed like it went well. i mean i feel like i was running pretty well this month but who knows that might of had somthing to do with it. there was a couple times i did stay when my stack got around 1200 and guess what i lost some before i left so im going to stick with it this month as well. at the moment i still think im in the middle of a little bit of varriance and i havnt really had a big downswing yet so im still expecting it. i feel my results this month were a bit on the high end and i realistically think that a 3-4k profit is an average winning month. right now im up 8k since i started playing in december so things are going pretty good i suppose and yeah thats about all for poker.

now for a recap at life and pickup for the month. well this whole month ive been feeling a little blank inside.
i went through this last winter when i was playing poker and it just feels like i lose direction in my life. ive been told that its normal for guys between 23-25 to feel that way and i dont feel greatly affected by it but its like i dont have a direction to push towards. ive also had some long term vacation thaughts on my mind lately. i dont know what ill be doing this summer, the company ive been working for in the summers might not have a job for me. thats not really an issue for me though and i could find a job with different companies but ive been really contimplating that if i dont work for them this summer that i might travel around europe for the summer.
i have a couple friends back packing around southeast asia right now and it has really inspired me to do somthing like that for myself and ive always wanted to go to a lot of places in europe but i wont know if im going to commit to the trip until probablly around may or somthing but its a thaught that is looming in my head. as far as pickup goes for this month ive seen some improvements. the first part of the month i found some really good educational stuff and learned a lot and i feel it really helped with my pick up game. i started implimenting it into my game and practice usuing the stuff whenever i would run game. i started running game on the weeknds to try and produce more results but i did skip one weeknd because of the bad weather this last weeknd i went out friday night to a bar near my place and i opened up a group of 2 girls and 1 guy and talked to them for a bit but then i eventually ejected the next day i went to the mall to run day game and i saw the same two girls there but i didnt approach them cause that would have been wierd, after that i didnt find any other opportunities to approach anyone so i went to another mall. i was in a store when i stopped this cute brunette who was proabablly an 8 and i talked to her for a bit. she actually seemed shy and it looked like she was blushing at the start of the interaction it came time for me to get her number and she said she had a boyfriend. i persisted a couple times but she wouldnt budge so nothing there. after that i went into the mall and while i was passing by one of the stores a girl that worked in it came to the front of the store and i started to talk to her. she was a cute brunette as well but this time probablly just a 7. she actually seemed really interested in me and when i went for the number she was really forward about telling me that she wouldnt flake out or anything. so after that i sent her a text and she replied then she went to a hockey game and missed one of my texts and she sent me a text saying how sorry she was that she missed it and hoped i would forgive her so she was showing me a lot of interest. i was actually out drinking that night with a friend and wasnt really trying to run game so nothing happend that night and i sent the girl a text the next day and she didnt reply so like 5 hours later i sent another one and still nothing. i waited a couple days and sent another one this time this one was ment to get a reaction and still nothing. so i feel like somthing ligitimitaley happend who knows maybe her phone broke or somthing but a girl that was that interested and responsive and then all of a sudden nothing kinda points that somthing happend but who knows. so i learned a lot this month from pickup and although i only got a few numbers that all flaked out and a kiss on the cheek from a hot lesbian two nights ago i feel like im progressing a lot. thats the one thing about pick up. it doesnt just teach you how to pick up girls it teaches you how to make your life better and make you a more rounded man in general and im seeing it more and more. this next month im expecting even more results, maybe even a pee pee touch ;)

other than all that non sense, im expecting next month to go pretty well. varriance depending oooooof course but it should be another well rounded month. so untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned

week recap, 1k tourney recap

welly well well have i got some news for you guys. so i guess ill just start with my week recap. this week has been mediocre at best after running pretty well for the first two and a half weeks or so im starting to get a little downswing varriance going on. i was already expecting it so no suprise but yeah so im going through that right now. im still up 5800 from cash games this month so hopefully i can round out the month with out getting bit to much more. yesterday was probablly the worst although i only lost 1 buyin i felt like i played like crap. i ran a bluff and got picked off wich made me start second guessing myself and i had to post the hand on 2+2 so i could get beratted for my hatchet job. after that hand i tried bluff catching a decent player who ended up making a flush on the river and i called cause i didnt see the third spade ouchh, just stupid mistakes its good it was only 500 and not like 3 buyins or anything like that. i didnt run any game this week cause i had the tourney today and i wanted to get into some of the side action and try and sleep early on saturday night which i did a horrible job doing. so no results there

so that leaves us with the tournament. this was a really good tournament it was 20k starting stack with 45 minute rounds, blinds started at 50/100 and went up slow for the first 3 rounds. it also drew a crowd of 108 players with 25k added so first place was right around 50k i think. so to start the tourney i had a pretty difficult table the 3 players to my left i could tell were internet tags with the 3rd one being the looser of the 3 but not too loose. then seats 4,5 were older guys seat 6 was a decent player who went deep in both the previous days events, seat 7 was another older guy and seat 8 was the looser guy out of the table and i could tell he was the guy that would get into tough spots and i was in seat 9. i didnt get much going on for the first few levels and i was able to stay around the 20k starting stack with a 3bet squeeze bluff and i made a set and got a little money from that but not much. after that it was a little dead and i had 3 major hands that decided my fate the first one went like this. blinds were 100/200 i was utg with 55 and raised to 500 one of the mp old guys called and everyone else folded. flop was A 4 6 i checked and he checked turn was another 6 i bet 1000 and he raised another 1000 i couldnt see him check raising with an Ace and the possibility of him having a 6 was low especially since i had two 5s meaning that took away a couple 56 combos so i called. the river was another Ace and i lead out for 2500 and he called and showed 56 for 6s full. the next hand that i was featured in was that everyone folded to me in the sb with 8 10 of hearts. the blinds were at 200/400 and i raised to 1000 and the bb was one of the decent tags and called. the flop came 7 5 7 no hearts i check and he checks. the turn is a 6 giving me a double gutshot so i bet 1400 and he calls the river was a Q and i bet 3500 and he shoved and i folded and he showed quad 7s. i guess it was good my straight didnt come. the last hand i was involved in was at 200/400 with a 25 ante one of the mp older guys raised to 1200, the decent player in seat 6 called and everyone folded to me in the bb and i had AKss i only had like 18bbs left so i shoved and mp folded and seat 6 thaught for a bit and called. i figured since he was thinking he had a pair. he showed JJ and the flop came 8 8 J the turn was and A and the river was a blank giving him a full house and ended my tourney. i felt how i played was ok it was just the times i ran a decent bluff the people actually had somthing and after that i didnt have much going. and that rounded out my week. im taking the rest of the day off since this week hasnt been so hot and im just going to take it easy. also next week will probablly be a slow week poker wise cause im going to try and get some maintanence done to my truck so we'll see how that goes.

on a side note though i calculated my winrate and im making 29 dollars an hour, and some change so pretty close to 30$ an hour. its only 270 hours so far which comes out to 9k-10k hands so yeah not a huge sample but an ok one for live. after a couple more months my winrate will be more defined with more hands so i recalculate it along the way. so heres to pissing away this last week and stay tuned till next time cosmonauts

mid week post *guest appearance*

alright so i usually just post once a week but some things have come up that needed to be said before sunday. on monday it snowed in washington, and when it snows like 3 inches places start to shut down (except casinos of course) well in the casino i played i noticed a couple faces that i havnt played with before and were pretty decent players so i assumed that since a couple of the bigger casions were a little ways away that the snow was stopping them from going. i was talking to one reg i played with asking him about another game at a different casino and he told me that matt probablly knew and pointed to a guy that ive never seen before then "matt" started talking about a 5/10/25 plo game that was going on at the big casino north of seattle. then he had to get up because it was at a must move game. for some reason i felt like i seen him somwhere before and had a strange feeling that he was a writet for cardplayer or somthing, i dont know why i thaught that but i did. then 2 more tags showed up that i hadnt seen before and sat on my right one of them was talking to the other about why he wasnt wearing his wsopc ring or somthing like that. then the dealer asked me if that was matt affleck on the other table and i was like who? and the guys to my right said yeah the name ran through my head and i was like oh yeah i remember that name a little bit.
before matt left he came up to the other guys on my right and were talking about the lapc this coming up week and then left. turns out i was playing with professionals the whole night.needless to say that table was the most solid table i played at the whole time ive been here, there was only one fish. i stayed for a few hours after my new found information just for the experience. when i lived in vegas ive played with pros as well jayme gold, ice man, andreas hoivald, and some online pros so playing with "pros" isnt somthing amazing but at the same time its interesting.


now the casino that i play at is running a 3 day tournament series called the winter classic. friday is a 300$ buy in saturday is a 500$ buyin and sunday is the 1000$ buyin they ran 6 satalites over the last 2 weeks for these events. 2 satalites for each event. i played the first 70$ satalite to try and get into the 300$ tourney but got sucked out on and didnt win a seat. yesterday was the last satelite and it was 210$ for the 1k event. so for every 5 players theres 1 seat awarded. i figured since there wasnt that many people probablly going to play since the snow was here that i would have a decent chance so i baught into the satalite. it turned out that 15 players signed up so 3 seats were awarded. i played pretty decently and i was getting decent cards to top it. there were only 2 tables and i was able to make it to the last table pretty easily and had good seat position. now when i was playing on stars and built up a lot of fpp's i would spend them on the sunday million satalites and i learned a really good stratgey to win those satelites so i felt pretty strongly about how i was going to play. i was able to chip up during one big pot and then put pressure on some players eventually getting down to 5 handed and i was sitting with about average chips. and by that time it was pretty much shove or fold for everyone. i had AQ and shoved the sb called with 99 and the flop came Q J 6, the turn and river missed him and we were down to 4 players. the player to my right was the shortest stack but could do dameage to somone if he doubled up through anyone. eventually the blinds picked away at him and he got snapped off when he shoved 33 and got called by AJ , an Ace hit the flop and held up and bam! i have a seat in the 1k event this sunday

so thats how my month is going. right now im up 7300$ for the month but 1000 of that is the tourney entry. im pretty escited about this tourney its got a pretty good structure. starting stack is 20k with 45 minute blinds and theres a garunteed prize pool of i think 25k or somthing anyways i feel like i should be able to do pretty well in it varriance depending and maybe ill be able to ship this tourney. btw this is the biggest event i will have ever played in so this month is turning out to be a month of mile stones for me. also since the tourney is on sunday at 10am im not going to go out this weeknd to run game from what i hear whenever they run this series the side games are pretty juicy so im going to focus on that plus i want to be prepared for sunday. i will go to that bar near where i live on friday night just to check it out after i play so we'll see how that goes.

new schedule

so i decided to reorganize my daily routine a little bit, the way it was before would be that i play poker whenever than i usually go out for some day game maybe one day a week and then usually go to downtown seattle on saturday night to run some night game. after being here for a little over a month ive noticed that the areas surronding seattle pretty much all operate on the same schedule. that being every one works during the day and has the weeknds off. so when i was going out to run day game in the middle of the week i was hardly ever finding anyone to approach. if i were in seattle it probablly wouldnt be a big of a deal but i live like 25 miles south and its filled with older people and couples so finding a single girl out here proves to be a little bit of a task during the week. so i rearanged my schedule to help my pick up possibilities. i went to a salon to get my hair colored and while i was there i was chatting up my stylist a bit and she was telling me about this bar that was pretty close to where i live so like a day later i checked it out and it seemed pretty cool but i think it is better to hit it up around midnight. so i decided that i usually get done with poker at midnight on friday so after that i will head to that bar to try and run nightgame if its decent. then saturday im devoting to daygame and then nightgame, and on sunday i will run day game untill like 5 or 6 and then head to the casino for a 6 hour session or so. so thats how im going to start doing things so hopefully i will be able to find more girls to approach.

now for some details. i ended up doing a few day approaches one was with a server girl at the poker room. i usually dont hit on girls when they are working but she was showing me some interest so i did anyway i tried to get the digits but no go, maybe in the future. the next one was actually my hair stylist. this time it was more so me just trying to run some material on her to see how she reacted at the end i was going to ask her to come outside with me to try and get her number but she had more clients waiting, she seemed interested or atlest i thaught so but oh well. the next one was on friday i went to a mall and saw a girl by her self at the food court so i approached her, i ran some ok material on her but i didnt feel to strongly about the interaction i ended up getting her number and started texting her and only got a few messages out of her before she flaked oh well she seemed a bit dull and boring anyway. saturday i was gonna go to downtown seattle but when i stepped outside i noticed that the roads were iced up, since im from alaska i dont have a problem driving in icy conditions but i was more worried about other people driving in downtown seattle so i decided to skip it and headed to the casino to see if i could do some approaches there but there wasnt shit. and sunday wasnt really much of anything, it snowed like an inch the night before and i guess whenever it snows everyone just stays in so i didnt find any girls. so thats how that went.

as far as poker goes for the month so far ive been running pretty well. ive only had 2 losing sessions out of 12 so far this month the first one i lost 400 and the second one i lost 1000 so that last session was a little bit of a hit but in general im running pretty decent and if i dont get a big downswing for the next part of the month i should end with a decent profit thats about it for this week all in all it was kind of a mediocre week but im hoping to improve that for this next week so untill next time stay tuned cosmonauts

warning ! doom switch ahead

allllright. so i will start with poker although i think i will regret it after i post it. it seems like i am on a run good spell right now. it started the last week of last month and has continued over to this month. so far i have made just over 5k this week which is 10 buy ins and things are going smooth. ive been sticking to what i said in my last blog where if my stack gets between 1000-1500 and it gets a little slow after that than i just pickup and leave and so far its been going good who knows, if i didnt pickup when i did maybe i might not be winning that much. (or i could have won even more) i like to think the first one is more accurate though ahaha. so ive been running good now for about 2 weeks and as i stated a couple blog posts ago it seems like the live swings take about 15-25 days to occur. seeing how when i first started up last month i went through a 3 week breakeven period and now im coming up on 2 weeks of running good i dont have to tell you whats most likely waiting for me in the near future. along with me posting about my run good its pretty inevitable that im going to accidentally hit the doom switch instead of pressing fold so im sure the next post or the one after that will be all about it. so right now im sitting with 7k in profit in about 5 weeks. if im able to make a profit of 15k before i get called out for work i think i might start playing 5/10 on mondays at another casino. i guess they spread a 5/10 game every monday at a casino about 30 minutes away and since its usually only 1 day a week its always juicy and loose so maybe ill get to play in that. the casino i play at spreads a 5/5 game on the weeknd and what that entails to is that both blinds are 5$ but if your going to limp it is 10$ so its essentially 5/10 with just the big blind being 5$ instead of 10$ this game is alright ive watched it a couple times its just it has like all the decent players in it and usually only 1 fish. it plays like an actual 2/5 in vegas wich is usually pretty solid nowadays so id rather just play 5/10 somwhere else or just stick to the soft 3/5 games that im playing now so thats about it for poker for now.

now life and pick-up. so the monday after newyears i decided to go out and run day game. i went to a couple malls and only did a few approaches there actually wasnt that many people out. i ended up going to a target thats connected to one of the malls and as i was walking in i noticed this girl infront of me that basically had me hypnotized by her ass. at that moment i knew it was love... or that i had to talk to her, either or. so she turned down a makeup aisle where there were about 5 other girls. SHIT! no way i was walking into that death trap. then an idea popped into my head, if shes getting makeup than shes probablly going to get hair supplies too which were a couple aisles away.i went down one of the aisles and waited for her. (sounds like a stalker i know...) so i waited a few minutes and nothing so i decided to go to the next aisle closer as i walked around the corner she was walking around at the same time and our eyes locked as we turned down different aisles. i was like damn i missed my chance. about 15 seconds later she comes to the aisle im at and i go for the kill. i pull out a gun and shoot her... jk, gotta keep you on your toes lol. so i go in and start a conversation turns out she was from washington but was going to college in hawaii and was only here for the winter break and was leaving that saturday. which was a little lame. i decided to get her number anyway and started texting her a few hours later. she was pretty hot btw i would say a 9 and if i was blinded than she was an 8.5 anyway i run some techniques on her and try and set up another meet before she leaves she generally sounded interested but she said she was super busy with family and everything before she left which was understandable. i waited a couple days before i started talking to her again but this time i had a plan to try and get her to my place for the night. we talked for a bit and then i was slowly turning the convo sexual untill i got a little suprise. she ended up being a virgin.. yeah im pretty sure it was the truth she was only 20 and she was super sweet so i could see it but who knows maybe she was lying i still tried to get her to come to my place but no go. after that i didnt run any day game and i was pretty hyped to go out last night and run some night game. i got downtown and went to one bar that was just super packed. there were a lot of hot girls but it was just so packed it was almost uncomftorable i ended up leaving there shortly after arriving and walked to see if i wanted to go somwhere else and then bam. i just lost all motivation to run game for the night. i think it was a mix of just frustration from the bar being so packed, and walkiing outside in the cold and not knowing anything about the nightlife there. whatever it was it got me out of state and i was now pissed at myself. i hate when i let myself down and i know its horrible for progression. so im really trying to put a stop to it. despite last night im going to try and redeem myslef today. i found this big mall a little ways away from my place that im going to check out so it should be pretty busy and i should be able to do some approaches and get some numbers and ill go from there. so untill next time cosmonauts, stay tuned

one crazy night and one new year

alright so last night had a lot of events that took place in my schedule so buckle up. so first off my friend that i met here told me about a house party that was going down for the night and i was like cool that should be good. i first went to downtown seattle to check out this new area i found. it turned out to be a pretty happening spot i mean it was super crowded because it was new years but on normal weeknds i think it will be prime pickings. anyway being that it was newyears and downtown seattle, it took me like 30 minutes to find a damn parking spot which sucked. i then went into this pub where they had music blasting and thats where the amusement starts. so after a couple drinks i eventually find a girl to approach. there were a lot of girls there but the place was super crowded so i was kinda waiting for a good opening to approach girls. so i start talking to this girl and i can tell shes pretty drunk. im pretty sure everything im saying is going in one ear and out the other and about 15 minutes after talking to her we split up. i go to another area and see a group of 3 hot girls and approach them. i tease one of the girls and tell her shes got a set of eyes that a famous actor has. they all ask who and i say sponge bob. (its a technique in pickup to generate attraction) and then BAM! one of the girls instantly says YOUVE READ THE GAME. the game is basically the most popular introduction book into the world of being a pick up artist.
although i havnt read it i know everything about it and this chick was totally calling me out. i went along with it though and was like yeah i did blah blah blah we joked about it for like 2 minutes and then they left me :( hahaha. so that was interesting ive never been called out about pick up like that. so probablly 10 minutes rolls by and its almost midnight. they shoot fireworks off at the space needle so i went outside to catch a glimpse of that which was cool.
after that i walked around for another venue. i ended up finding this ultra lounge i think and went in there. i approached a groupl of 2 girls and they instantly had no interest in me, i then saw another set of 2 girls and approached them the first like 2 minutes were going good and then i used the same spongebob line and shit turned quick. the girl i used it on back turned me and the other girl told me to leave. i then start joking with both of them and they instantly put there bitch defense up and soon walked away from me. i was like DAMN ive never had a girl blow up at me after one tease that was crazy.
so i didnt really care for the lounge scene so i left. i decided to go to that house party my friend told me about. once i showed up i started talking to a girl. i again used the spongebob line and this time the girl had enough sense to realize it was a joke so i passed the first obstacle. then an opportunity came up that i was able to try a move that ive been wanting to try for a week so i went for it. the girl asked me where i was fromand i told her to guess. if she got it right i would give her a suprise that i have in my pocket. she guessed montanna or somthing and i said no one more guess than she said wyoming or somthing and i was like yesss. i told her to hold out her hand and close her eyes. as soon as she did i kissed her. she still had her hand out and sayed that wasnt somthing you put in my hand so i gave her a low five. she was like that not cool i have a boyfriend and hes standing behind you..... what.. i told her well since i didnt feel a fist to my face yet i think im pretty good. she politely excused her self a short while after that. about 2 minutes and 37 seconds after that i was standing around with a couple guys and these couple guys come over and was like this guy tried to kiss charity or whatever her name was. i explained had i known she had a boyfriend i wouldnt have done that and they were like im not gonna hit you but if i was her boyfriend than i would. sooooo i already connected 1+1 and decided if thhese 2 guys already knew about it than it would only be a matter of minutes before her boyfriend came in wanting to start shit. by the way they were all rugby players. so not only do they have that macho attitude they also like to fight. theres not usually a time where i like to get into fights thats why i watch it on tv. so i went out the back door and walked to my car hahahah i sent my friend a text and he wanted to go to this after hours club that weve been hitting up so i picked him up and we went there. when we got there we danced a little bit and then i found a 2 set that looked like a pretty good spot so we approached them. they turned out to be german and although i would love to get intamate with any girl from a different continent usually talking to them is fucking hard to do because of the thick accent mix that with a loud club and it didnt take long before the interaction was over. i thnk i approached one other girl but im not sure. i was then on the dance floor and saw the hot petite girl basically making love to herself so i went over and started to dane with her she turned out to be a little wild and we were able to get a little frisky on the dance floor. i could tell she was already in seduction mode so i tried running some seduction techniques and it was going well. i moved her to another area of the dance floor and then we seperated for like 2 minutes and she was gone so that was lame. me and my friend left shortly after that and that pretty much boils my night down as you can tell a whole lot of first time scenarios happend that made the night pretty humor filled but i really just feel like i was running bad last night haha.

now for my new year post. so to start im going to rename the blog for the new year. it will still be enroute to robusto, but instead of it being "trying to become a winning poker player and an aspiring pick up artist" im going to switch it to the journey of a winning poker player and an aspiring pick up artist. i think a year of solid results at the table has proven that i am a winning player by now. although i guess you can say im a pick up artist im not going to switch it untill i actually feel like im getting the results i want wich arnt happening yet. if anyone has noticed i also changed the design of my page as well.

so with me finishing this month off. and with my play from last winter when i was in vegas for 2011 im finishing the year with a poker profit of 11,005$. of course this number could have been a lot higher had online poker not been shut down but theres always the future. this year has been my turning point as a poker player and after 24 tabling on stars and playing live for the whole winter i was really able to get a solid fondation going for my game and was able to find and fix a lot of leaks in my game im currently playing live 3/5 at the moment and depending if im able to play the whole winter or not i should be able to make 15k at it. by then i should be going back to work in the summer for my job if i dont get called out for it in the winter and if end up in alaska again then im going to deposit on the merge network and grind a little bit on there. 6 months without any poker was pretty harsh last time.

so heres my goals and expectations for 2012. for poker im really going to put in a solid grind for as long as possible untill my job calls me and im going to really try and produce solid results. im going to put a bit of effort into studying my game as well and continue trying to improve. as for my pick up game, ive been getting into it more and more and its to the point to where i really feel like i just need to put in the practice hours and ill start seeing results. im going to put a lot of effort into that as well and if theres time that im not playing poker than ill be practicing pick up. i have a workout routine going right now which is all good and it will probablly go for another 8- 10 weeks when i start working again it will be a little hard to workout so that will probablly go away untill i get the oportunity to do it again. my life is pretty balanced right now and i like the direction its headed. im taking advantage of some opportunities in my life and if more come my way ill be sure to jump on them. so for right now it pretty much seems like my life is revolved around money and girls which isnt so bad of a thing in my eyes id like to travel a bit more in 2012 so if i get the opportunity and im in good standing i will take advantage of that as well theres probablly more but i cant think of anything else so anyone reading this i appreciate you reading and its fun having an audience to blog to. i feel 2012 will be full of whacky times so stay tuned for that cosmonauts :)
