Part 4: Hawai- O'ahu and maui.

Half way through December and I am finally finishing up my " November stories" oh where has the time gone. On a side note, dating a girl who is really active means that she always has ideas for fun things to do and try which leaves you little free time but you are usually always entertained.

When I left off on the last post I had just finished off in L.A. (with the girl I just mentioned) and I was flying to Hawaii. I had two stops planned for Hawaii, I was planning on staying 10 days on O'ahu with two of my friends from Alaska, and then after that I was going to hop over to the island of Maui to spend another week with a friend from Alaska who is now living on Maui.

This trip marked the 3rd time for me going to O'ahu and to be honest I would much rather go other places. O'ahu is the main tourist Island of Hawaii. particularly a section of O'ahu called waikiki. I typically always tell people if they plan on visiting Hawaii to go to Waikiki first because you can do all the tourist things there, then when you go to Hawaii again you can go to a different Island and do more of an actual "Hawaiian experience". The reason I went back to O'ahu this time was because it was my friends first time to Hawaii and like I just stated. Since it was their first time we decided on going to O'ahu. Don't get me wrong though, you can have a lot of fun. It's just that it is a tourist trap and everyone knows what that is like.

I met up with my friends at the airport and we headed to the hotel. These two guys were friends that I have grown up with from my childhood and we were all more of like brothers. I love these guys and we always have fun together but they do have their downsides just like everyone has. There biggest pit fall is they are unmotivated and huge gamers. there was several times I had to motivate them to leave the hotel to go out and do stuff instead of sit in the room and play their gamboy 3ds. sounds insane I know.

None the less we did have our fun and lots of it. We did all the touristy things from surfing, paddle boarding, and going on water tricycles. We went to a water park which was very fun, hiked a dormant volcano dome, swam in the ocean and sun bathed (mostly burning).

One of the memories that I came away with was a little adventure we had while renting mopeds. We had planned to rent mopeds, go to the volcano to hike, drive around and then turn the mopeds back in at night. All was going well and the day was soon to end. We decided to head back to the moped shop to turn them in. On our way back we came speeding up to a pedestrian crosswalk when my friend in front of me slammed on his breaks because someone wanted to cross. Which in turn caused me to slam on my breaks, unfortunately my friend behind me had barley any time on any kind of motorcycle and the next thing I remember is a hard crash in the back of me and me falling to the pavement. FUCK!

My friend didn't stop fast enough and he ran into me. We were both ok but my friend had some minor cuts on his foot and leg, I had a couple bruises and scratches but nothing dramatic. The more concerning thing was the mopeds. Mine was fine and no visible damage, the other one had some broken pieces and a front tired fender cracked. I knew we were in for it because we opted not to take up any insurance when we rented them. We composed our selves and drove back to the shop where the guy began to over rationalize the damage. I mentioned to him if it was substantial damage then I wanted a moped mechanic to come by and give me a quote on the damages which I'm sure went in one ear and out the other. He through out a number of 900$! declaring that the whole front end was bent and had to be replaced. Basically he was screwing us over. I talked to my friend about it and he was fine with paying whatever so after a little bit of bartering with the guy I got him to settle for 775$ and me and my friend split the cost. since we split the cost it wasn't a huge deal but still not very enjoyable. My friend said sorry to me to which I told him It really wasn't a big deal, shit happens and in the end it is a story we will have and be able to laugh over in the future. everything is cool.

The next major event was something very fun. I had been texting the girl I had met and went on a date with in seattle a few weeks ago (part 1) and the vibe was staying pretty positive and good. She sounded so enthused about Hawaii so... I invited her to come down. At first it was more or less just a harmless invite that I didn't think too much about. Her reactions were positive and with a little bit of text game and negotiations I was able to help persuade her little hamster in her head and she bought a ticket for that upcoming weekend.

Pretty crazy but sometimes all you have to do is offer and do a little persisting and magic can happen. Friday night came and she arrived at the hotel.
I had booked a separate hotel room because there was no way she was staying with me and my two friends in one room. The weekend turned out to just be me and her which my friends were ok about. They just played games the whole weekend anyways. This girl was very fun and had a very adventurous and funny/quirky personality. although she stayed for the weekend we only ended up having sex 3 times but we could have went for more if we stayed in the room more. We had a lot of fun which included dining at the top of a revolving restraunt looking over waikiki's skyline, some beach time, going to the zoo, and a few other activities. It turned out to be very enjoyable and those types of things happen to you when you learn daygame. You end up having a lot of enjoyable times with the girls and people you want to be with.

The girl left Sunday night and me and my friends had a few more days before they left and I went to Maui. Once I was on Maui things were very different. I get a really really unmotivated vibe from Maui which is good in its own way as that is what the island attracts. My friend that lives there adds to that. Same thing, I love the guy and he is a great guy but there are some things I don't really care for about his lifestyle. he does have things he is doing in his life which is good but more or less it revolves around smoking weed. The thing that I do respect him about though is that he accepts that and he wants that as a lifestyle which is why he moved to Maui and why he loves it there so much so I really respect him for that and doing what he wants to do... it's just not what I want so our personalities bump occasionally.

All in all it was an enjoyable stay on Maui as well. Didn't do a whole lot outside of beach things but I didn't have the expectations that I was going to do a lot on Maui anyways. One of my missions this winter was to just try and live life and live the experiences. One of those experiences was smoking weed with my friend. I never smoked before (shocking I know) and I just wanted to experience it, and experience it I did. We smoked quite a bit the week I was there and while I did trip out a bit on it, it was enjoyable and fun but I feel so unmotivated on it so if I plan on smoking it in the future I will limit it to the same as I do binge drinking which is usually only on special or rare occasions when I want to let loose have crazy fun or something along those lines.

So it was time to leave Maui and end my Hawaii vacation and head back to L.A. where I would be getting into the relationship with the girl there for the winter and enjoy the rest of the winter while concentrating on other the things I am trying to accomplish this winter. That's it for the November stories. hope they were entertaining and as always until next time, stay tuned cosmonauts :)
