mansion party

thats right folks went to my first vegas mansion party. but today the story will start from a couple of days ago. my poker friend i met at the venetian sent me a text and said that his friend from work can get us into the bank at bellagio for this girls 21st birthday and wanted to know if i wanted to go. seeing how i had never been to the bank or went out to a club on a thursday i told him i was down. i met up with him later that night and we went to where his friend was at in another apartment where they were pregaming before going to the club. we just get in there my friend finds a cup to pour somthing to drink turns around and knocks a half bottle of vodka on the ground and instantly shatters lining the floor with glass and vodka. my friends a cool guy but it seems he gets himself into hillarious sittuations from time to time. so after all those shannaigans we headed to the club. i must say out of all the clubs i went to in vegas the bank has the worst setup to get into the club, no apparent line formation and when you do figure out where to go they just take forever to let you in. it took a bit for aus to get in but we eventually did and to judge the club id say its a pretty decent club. not very huge but a lot of vegas clubs are on the smaller side but its got a neat layout and good music. the guys i was with wernt really interested to much in it so we left after about an hour. they decided they wanted to hit up a local spot called stoneys which is near southpoint hotel and the very most south hotel off the strip (hence the name) i forgot to mention i decided to tackle that night sober and see how things turned out while doing so. when we got to stoneys and got in it turned out to be a pretty interesting spot. mainly a country type bar playing country music they had wood barrels every where girls dressed like cowgirls and even a mechanical bull but also the music they played switched from country to hip hop which was pretty interesting. i remeber looking at the dance floor and seeing 2 gangster doing a 2 step to a country song and was like what the hell. i dont even know how to 2 step what are they doing out there or inside the bar for that matter. then just like that teach me how to duggie came on and the dance floor instantly turned into a hip hop arena. its a very unique place and i would suggest people to go there if your looking for a good time. also there were a lot of approachable girls there and the music isnt so loud that you cant hear each other. me and my friend did our fair share of approaches but no dice. after about 2 hours there we ended going to southpoint where my frind wanted to get free tequila shots for blackjack so he did just that. after that we went to there buffet place and had breakfast to finish the night with him pouring tabasco on his pancakes calling them the "devils asshole" while stuffing his face. so the next day i actually ended up staying home and playing poker and watching movies most of the day but ill get to that later. but that night my friend sent me a another text telling me about this mansion party that was being hosted by sinners and saints, he gave me the info and how to get on the list and wht not and we were set for saturday. i ended up going to the casino saturday and played about 5 hours of poker before heading to pick my friend up. once i picked him up and we got to the place we started to pregame in my truck before actually getting into the place. to be fair i wouldnt have called it a "mansion" but it was a big ass house. we didnt have any trouble getting in and got there rather early at like 11pm. the event was supposed to go from 10pm-8am. once we got in we checked the place out where they had a dance spot with a dj setup in one room and a bunch of bars spread out the area and stripper poles and also a big backyard with a lot of spots to lounge. it also helped that all the girls working were dressed as devils or angels to make things sweeter. they even threw a oil wrestling match for gods sake. anyway there were a decent amount of people that showed up as well as a decent amount of very good looking females. and i can say it is way easier to approach and talk to a girl at a party rather than in a club. although halfay through the night i got rather drunk and the ambition to pull a girl almost faded my mind completly my friend on the other hand had one thing on his mind that night and the text he sent me this morning was priceless. "- i went bareback with a 41 year old, geting std tested". i looked at that and just laughed. i had a really awesome time met some cool people and it was probablly one of the more fun nights ive spent out in vegas. unfortunatley charlie sheen wasnt there so my night wasnt totally complete but it was pretty awesome



now for the less important stuff like poker. online poker up untill like the last 5 days has been pretty uneventfull and actually wasnt seeing much results at all it really seemed like i was just on the backside of varriance untill friday when i ended up having a 11 buyin winning session. and the next few day i was winning 3-5 buyins each day and to top it off i should be able to clear the 100$ bonus before the months end to pull a pretty profitable month. as for live poker goes, this month has just been a big case of run good. this last week has been insane and is where i have won most my winnings for the month. yesterday i booked a 450$ win at the 1/2 tables and if things stay decent it will be my biggest month so far for live poker. so things are going pretty sweet this month and im looking to finish it out strong and go into my last month here flying high and proud. so the next post i do will be in a few days for the monthly recap so stay tuned for that. also if youve read through this whole post congradulations and heres your prize

alright all you fellow dgenerates out there i played poker this week that is all... jk this week has had quite a bit of things that have happend. i took a few days off of live poker i think monday thursday and saturday i believe. the first 2 days i tok off because i bluffed off a buyin and then waking up the next day i didnt feel like playing that day ( sad face ) and i took saturday off because i went out to a club friday with my poker friend which ill talk about later. live poker this week was mediocre for what i did play and actually think i just broke even for the week.

i did find somthing pretty interesting though by the end of march i will have put 25k-30k hands in at live poker and im up 2000 big blinds so depending on how accurate my calculations are on how many hand ive played im winning at 7-8 big blinds per 100 hands (7bb/100) which from what i understand is a pretty decent winrate for live its not totally crushing the game but its a pretty decent win rate non the less only problem is its 25k-30k hand sample meaning i wouldnt totally go off that number, i would really be able to tell a solid win rate after probablly a year of playing the game and also with that winrate i wish i could put more hands in per day but thats live poker for you. online poker has been going nuts. im deffinitley experiencing the varriance of poker this month i have a whole lot of swings mostly from this week but also through the whole month. i feel like ive been playing good, i have made some dumbe calls here or there resulting in a few stacks being donating to the enemy but it seems like im just running into the top of the villans range a whole lot this week. also ive been getting sucked out on the river a bit too, but not all in its just the hand gets to the river and he gets lucky and me being the fish of 10nl i usually pay them off. its not all so bad i am up 7 buyins this months which isnt amazing or anything but ill take it seeing how im running for right now. also ive started to deposit money online for the summer, im going to transfer my live winnings to online but i have to do it the e-check way which takes a while (2000$ a month) so i decided ill start early so when i get up to alaska it will be ready to go. i forgot that pokerstars was having a 25% relaod bonus up to 150$. the first week i deposited if i woulda used the code i could have goten the full 150$ bonus but forgot about it so the next time i deposited i could only deposit 400$ this time using the code so im only getting 100$ which is alright free money. i should be able to clear the bonus before the end of the month which will probablly be where most of my winnings will come from. also am halfway through a 50$ stellar reward but probablly wont get that till next month.

as far as my life has been going. things have been decent. the big thing is that i turned in my 30 day notice to my apartment and they gave me some paper work and were telling me about the penalties id have to pay and stuff which was fine. then the next day my boss man called and sayed it looks like we'll be starting up the usuall time which will be in june, so i had to go back in and cancel my 30 day move out notice and look like a dummy but its alright. i mean i had the mentality that i was moving at the end of the month but being here till may 1st will be fun too. the days i took off from live poker i did play online poker those days( both bringing horrible results) but after those sessions i pretty much turned into a lazy sloth and watched movies all day and roamed the inter webs. only worked out like 4 days this week compared to my usuall 6-7 times a week so i felt like i was ditching class. on friday though my poker buddy really wanted to go to club XS in the encore. i had been there once and had my opinion on it, but i told him i would go. its probablly vegas's 2nd or 3rd most popular club and i think its the second biggest besides club rain. but yeah it was fun i didnt drink a whole lot and im finding myself not really even wanting to drink that much when i go out anymore. partly cause of the crazy hangovers a get and also i probablly end up puking like 75% of the time i over endulge in alcohol wierd huh. anyway i did drink i bit and we had some fun taked to a few girls but nothing turned of it. it is better to have a wingman though and there are more situations that are promising when you have one. my friend was kinda dissapointed in the club and said they had so many tables that there wernt enough girls to approach that wernt at a table. which was true to some extent but what do you expect from one of the biggest clubs in town. also i went and saw "O" at the bellagio which was fricken awesome i highly suggest it if your thinking about seeing a show heres it was totally worth it. anyway so that was the fun for the week. my buddy who lives in hawaii is on spring break and says he might come visit me for a couple days if things go right so i might have somone to entertain next week bu we'll see. so till next time lovers stay tuned

final decision

so ive been thinking about when i should start to pack things up here in vegas and head back up to alaska for the summer. i was going to wait till my job informed me when the season were to start up, but since there already assuming that the season will start a little early (mid april, early may)ive decided that april 1st will be my last day in vegas.... epic sad face :( i just want to give myself enough time to find an apartment and work vehicle in alaska before my job starts up so ill be ready to go. even if they dont start up for another month after i get there ill have my computer up there and will be 24 tabling 25nl while i wait so that will be fine by me. i plan on doing a vegas recap and my thaughts and experience over the time ive spent here but ill do that a couple days before the end of the month. just like packing up to move down here was kind of a hassel, packing up to move my stuff to washington for the summer is a little bit of a hassel plus im breaking my 6 month lease for my apartment so i got a bit of penalty fees i have to pay but oh well i knew what i was getting into when i came here. but yeah thats my decision for the rest of my time here, and thats about it for now ill post again between now and sunday

mid month review

its like a day early for the mid month review but sincew i usually post on sunday i decided its close enough. so far things have been going pretty decent. ill start with poker i suppose. online im up almost 10 buyins which is decent nothing super crazy but i like where its heading (up). live is going good as well except for this last week. the first week i won 1000$ or somwhere in that neighborhood. then this last week kinda sucked i wasnt really going anywhere and losing like 50 here 60 there 100 over there and a little under there. i took yesterday off for a couple reasons but one had to do with me bluffing 300$ off to a guy who called with a pair of 7s so i got soul crushed there. but today went very well and won 650$ and was able to get all my losses back from the past week so its going good.


outside of poker has been good too my mom and her hubby came the first weeknd of the month so i didnt put to much poker time in those days but i had fun and enjoyed thier company. also i met a kid at the poker tables a few weeks ago and weve talked a little and played a bit but we played again friday night and i guess a bunch of his friends were in town from cali so he was leaving at 10 and wanted to know if i wanted to go out drinking with them on the strip i told him i kinda just felt like playing a bit more and then 3 hands later i bluff off 300$ call him up and sayed yeah im coming out with you... it was pretty fun though his friends were in a group of like 10 and one of the guys had his sister and her friends in the next room that we chilled with for a bit before we hit the strip (all good looking) didnt seem like there were any good prospects with the girl though. but that didnt stop me and my poker buddy from trying to open up the convo. seems like we were the only ones trying to interact with them out of 12 guys haha anywhoozle one girl was way into her phone another was just stuck up 2 of them seemed cool but they ended up spliting once we hit the strip so ehh oh well. but yeah basically drank and walked the strip and watched them play some table games. its kinda funny how much im into poker but will not touch any other casino game, even drunk. guess thats a good thing though. but yeah so the next morning i was hungover SURPRISE!!! so i really didnt feel like doing anything other than being lazy all day and now its today. oh also i got a ticket to see O at the bellagio this thursday so that should be cool. and i got a friend coming in from cali on the 15th he hasnt communicated to much so i dont know how long hes here for and everything like that but we should be able to get into some trouble while hes here. also im kinda thinking this might be the last month of vegas for me i still havnt gotten a full description if my job is starting early or not but even if it sarts at the normal time i will prolly only stay till middle of april but i might be outta here by april first probablly wont find out till the last week of march haha, but when i do go back up to ak it might be a little bit before im able to get the interwebs goin for poker so i might be out of the action for the month but when i do get going ill be at the 25nl tables so im looking forward to taht:) i guess thats it so far this month just hanging in for the ride so keep up slow pokes

double or nothing

so ive decided to do a little mid week post to talk about my live poker experience. so far up till now has been going smoothly and yesterday i was able to win 550$ putting my bankroll for live just over double from what i started with. i started with 4000$ (20 buy ins) and now im sitting at 8250$. i feel really strong about saying im a winning player at 1/2nl live and i feel i can beat that game consistantly. to kinda recap how my winter of live poker has went when i first got to vegas i hit a heater and won 3000$ in a little over 3 weeks. ive never played any signifficant amount of live poker before now so i didnt know if i was running hot or if that was usuall or not. i found out quickly because the next 2 weeks after that i lost 2200$ and felt prettty disheartend. im glad i hit a heater though right when i got here cause if i went on a downswing instead it might have crushed my hopes. i didnt and dont plan on making any significant amount of money while im here its more of a challange and a learning experience. at first i wanted to be able to just break even at the tables and if i left here dead even than it would be fine with me but now that i can see that i can beat these games i try and put a steady amount of volume in usually about 7-8 hours a day. but after my 11 buyin downswing i had a little trouble being motivated to put in a lot of volume and started playing 4-5 hours a day and that really took away from my winrate. i was able to win most of my losses back (even though i was still ahead) and going into febuary i was about 2200$ up for my trip. febuary was really slow and i was breaking even for most of the month. untill the last 3 days of febuary i won 1200$ to end the month on a positive note and after that i had a couple big winning sessions and this past week has been ok as well. so thats how my live bankroll got to where its at now. ive been thinking a bit lately about taking shots in the 2/5 nl game and im pretty sure after i got use to any differences in play, that i could be a winning player in that game as well. to compare the two 1/2nl live is like playing 5nl online and 2/5nl live would be like playing 10nl online. but after rethinking things i would rather be rolled for the limit i want to play in for atleast a couple months instead of trying to take a shot on a weeknd and just have a bad session or get unlucky a couple times and then loose my winnings for the month or somthing so ive decided not to take any shots unless fully rolled for the game which i dont think i will be unles i go on a big heater before i have to leave vegas and win anothe 4k then i might start playing in 2/5nl. its not that big of a deal im fine where im at and im happy with my results so far when i do start working again this summer im going to put my live poker winnings online and start playing 25nl regularly. im pretty sure i am a winning player there as well maybe not as much as 10nl but i feel like id be able to beat that game. but i think that might be the last time i deposit online and i think im just going to try and grind my way up the limits from there. there might be one more time that i deposit. if i really feel like i am crushing 25 nl and think i can beat 50nl decently then i might deposit enough to play 50nl but other than that i dont think i will deposit again and i dont think i will lose my roll either. so im really looking forward to the future and this summer even though i will only play a couple hours a day after work im still excited to play 25nl and start winning decent money. but thats all for now weeble wobbles but we dont fall down kids

sunday recap

well this first week was pretty fun ill start with poker. i really havnt played to much poker this week cause my mom and her hubby came to visit me fri-sun so i was busy entertaining, somwhat. but what i did play i am doing decent im up a little online for the week. and live started off pretty hot winning every session i played except for today. today actually sucked it was just one of those days that you couldnt do anything right and kept getting owned but oh well still up for the week.

since my mommy came to see me we got tickets to go see terry fator which was histarical if you ever have a chance to see him i highly suggest. then i got us a room at the venetian wich was like better than my apartment if it had a kitchen in it. then the next day after we checked out we went to the grand canyon which was my second time going but i still enjoyed it a lot and did a couple things this time around that i didnt do the first, we had planned to go to freemont street that night once we got back but they were all tuckerd out so we skipped that idea and headed home for the night. today they had tickets to the nascar race and i played my disatster poker session then once they got back we checked out the volcano at the mirage, the fountains at bellagio, and then the sirens at TI. which i wouldnt recomend bringing kids to see the sirens.(a bit naughty) so this weeknd was more of a play time then actuall poker time, im probablly dropping them off at the airport tomorrow around 4 or somthing so after that the grind will start back up. i havnt contacted my summer job yet so im not sure when our start up date will be but ill worry more about that probablly next week. also this month if i have to leave next month i want to see O at the bellagio and i want to go sky diving so ill have to sit down pretty soon and make reservations for those but yeah thats what i got planned so far i might post again mid week or somthing if i have somnthing good to talk about so till then rangers stay tuned

febuary review

another month another dolla well alittle bit more than a dolla. so ill talk about my personal life since nnot much has been going on besides poker. yeah this month i went out to the clubs twice i think had fun the first time i went out, lacked in the female department (not surprising) but the night was fun, this last weeknd i went out as well but clubbing here doesnt have as much of an appeal to me anymore. mainly cause im there by myself but also i havnt been in the mood to drink really or dance so ive kinda just not cared about going to them. it would be a lot more fun with a wingman (successful) but its still a good time. besides that nothing to much has happend i did go to the mirage today and checked out there "secret garden" which i didnt even know they had till today, so guess i didnt know the secret. but yeah theyve got a dolphin area and then a seperate area with large cats from lions to leapords and a few other things so that was cool and it made fore some good pics. also saw frank calliendo which was funny, and plan on seeing another show next month. also on a downside my summer job might be starting a little early this year. usually they start up around middle of may or june but theres talk that we might be starting up middle of april which i kinda have doubts on that but if we do then ill be leaving vegas probablly the first of april but i probablly wont find out for a couple 2-3 weeks.

now as for poker goes this month ended on a very positive note ill start with online.



so like the first week online went kinda slow and was pretty much breaking even then i hit like 2 hot days that just shot me straight up then for like 2 weeks i was wining consistantly then fell a little bit and this las 5 or so days have kinda been like meh but still ended rather good, at one point i was up 37.5 buyins but as i sit now im just over 30 buyins up for the month. i was also able to clear two 10$ stellar awards as well as a 50$ stellar award and then won a micro tourney for 7$ so i did pretty good online this month i think a 30 buyin month is on the high side but at 10nl i can see myself winning 20 buyins a month consistantly. variance depending of course. ive been studying a bit too watching videos going over my play a little reading the forums and putting in the work and it seems to pay off so far so hopefully this will be the trend. so to recap the month for online my roll is sittling at 2200$

now for live. at the bigining of the month things werent go so hot and i wasnt seeing many results actually for the whole month i was pretty much just breaking even maybe win a buyin here lose one there that sort of stuff and last week i actually won more online for the month than i did playing live. untill the past few days that is so a few days ago i was able to win 500 in one night then last night there was this super drunk guy at my tabling throwing money away. he sat down with 200 and ran it up to 1000 a couple times also giving plenty away but he was dishing out suckouts left and right amazingly he left like 800 up for the night ill just say that i feel sorry for the guy that got beat on the river twice both times all in on the flop. ouch. but anyways i was able to pick a bit off of him and i think i left 400 up that night and then today went good as well and won 300 i think so just like that within 3 days i was able to turn this month into a winning month. thats another downside to live is the lenght of your run bads can go for a while. but for the month i was able to wine 1225$ and now i am finally a bit over 3000$ up since ive been here wich i feel i could be up more but january went pretty poorley and when that happend i started playing less hours and didnt see many results. at the begining of febuary i wasnt putting in many hours either but then realized i needed to start in order to see more results so i decided to stay at the casinos till midnight every night instead of leaving early. i feel like it has helped me to stay there longer which inturn gives me more chance to win money but yeah so to recap the month for my live play my roll sits at 7225$
